Arnett to transfer?

This.

Dooley knows what's going on more than anyone on these forums. If he decides not to grant him a full release I will understand. This is about more than his father. Seems like he's using his father as a pawn. Hate to say it.

This might be the most intelligent post you have ever made.

Kid is totally using his dad as a pawn. He's told teammates it's more about CCB leaving and the locker room atmosphere.

Best of luck & it's totally his right. But he doesn't need to get butt hurt when the Coach sees through his thinly veiled excuse of his dad's health & makes him transfer like anyone else would have to.

I'm sorry, but unless you are playing the school in the next 2 years, release the kid to whatever school he wants to go to and do not try and put terms on the release.

There is NO WAY that Dooley will look good at the end of this unless he gives him an unconditional release. You can't say to an 18 year old kid "look, sorry your Pops is sick with heart issues, but we'll let you go back home to play football under a few conditions.........."

That would be a PR disaster in recruiting. Amd aren't they recruiting against EVERY school??

I disagree.

When a kid signs his LOI, he is committed to that school. He can't just walk out and expect to transfer to wherever he wants without consequences because he has second thoughts on where to play.

If this is truly about his father' health, then he will have no complaints about being able to go to school and play for Central Michigan. It is the closest school near his hometown of Saginaw. It would afford him the best opportunity to be near his father.

East Lansing and Ann Harbor are not nearly as close as Central Michigan or many other schools.

Dooley is not keeping him from being near his father. In fact, he is willing to allow him to transfer very close to his father if this is what the case really is. Thus, there is not any shots to the UT solar plexus as you think.

Exactly. I hinted at this last night when I posted in this thread. Don't get me wrong , I want him to be happy , but it's not just about his father. He was never close to him and he always thought of Ralph as his dad. In my opinion this is key for him playing next year and not sitting out a season.

Guess you can't keep up very well. Dooley agreed to let him transfer to Central or Western Michigan. If it's really about his Dad shouldn't Arnett take Dooley up on this deal?

Face it the only thing you and your jort wearing brethern care about is Tennessee continuing to struggle. Nothing more.

Let's say your offered a job in Florida because you have to move there for health reasons.

You get offered a job being paid 10 bucks in hour, but it's in Florida, as a waiter.

Another company in Florida wants to offer you a job making 75K, but it won't open for 6-9 months, so you have to wait in your current state.

Don't you just take the $10.00 per hour job since it's for your health and it gets you to Florida quicker?

So surely DD will give him a release, right?

One of the guys that follows UT was just saying on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville that Dooley would give him a release to any MAC schools in Michigan, but it don't look like he would to Michigan, Michigan State, or Notre Dame. Not sure why this would matter.

I apologize if this has already been posted.

Mike Blakely, aka "the next Emmitt Smith", showed up in Gainesville last January as an EE and departed in May. He lasted all of one spring practice...didn't play a single game for the Gators. Hee hee hee

Ann Arbor and East Lansing are only about an hour from Saginaw. hell I know people that commute that everyday.

And Muschamp let him go to Auburn..............a team we played last year.

Unconditional release.

lol slow news day? Why is this on the front page of ESPN?

If I were Dooley, I'd wait for the media to stop giving a **** in about 48-72 hours and then release him to the MAC.

You would think ESPN had more important things to cover. Makes me think Arnett or his family went to them.

this isn't about his dad. he wanted out the second CCB left. I think Tennessee should do the same with him as they did BB. FYI, most players have family issues/health issues.

That's quite a stretch.

Isn't that like saying most people from California surf?
