Ok thanks! I didn't know and the (LSU Commit) just popped up today so I thought it was new. Thanks again!

"He told me right now he's trying to figure out what's the best decision for him," Kirk Landry said. "He said he's committed to LSU. He's not decommiting. The final decision may be that he's going to LSU."

Tennessee's one school that's increased its interest and has made Bourque aware of its lack of running back depth, Landry said. Texas A&M, the school Bourque originally committed to, had resumed talks before the recent firing of Head Coach Mike Sherman and hasn't made contact since the hiring of Kevin Sumlin.

These are comments from Bourque's father in a Tigerbait article a couple of days ago.

Stop making comparisons to the every few RBs in the NFL that are legitimately 6'2". They're an exception, not a rule.

I never acted like it was a rule. I also didn't go so far as to compare this guy to jacobs or say he was the next jacobs. I just pointed out a rb who was tall. No more no less.

We are the only school he mentions as recruiting him. If he decides he doesn't want to go to LSU, you have to like our chances.

Article kind of makes it sound like his dad is encouraging him to stick with LSU but Davante isn't sure.

Perhaps LSU-SIU could shed some light on that.

This guy has got such a stiffie for LSU I don't see him switching. He would rather go there, and run the ball 5-7 times a game it looks like to me. Is this crap that LSU-SIU keeps saying the same crap that LSU uses on these kids.

I don't know, there's a lot of chatter that he's not happy about them taking Hill when Miles told him he would be the only RB in this class. Especially considering how many good young RB's they already have.

It looks like to me that he would rather have a real chance to be "the man" than to share the spotlight with 5 other guys, but I don't think cognitive function is a real strong quality among la rbs.

The problem is that these guys have always been "the man" and they see no reason for that to change, even when they will be competing for a spot against other great athletes.

It's like that stretch where USC is signing like 3 or 4 of the top backs in the country over and over again and they all think they're going to win the Heisman there. In reality, a few play and the rest transfer.

...and they wanna be shown "the love" from the staff and fans.

See: Wright, Gabe. (2010)

That's where the cognitive function comes in. I swear I thought about USC when I was writing my post, and how similiar this is. I remember a write up on USC in SI after their first game about 3 or 4 years ago. They were making a huge deal about how 3 different RBs had over 100 yrds, and a 4th was only iirc 5 yrds from 100 against some BFEU team. I remember thinking then that surely those guys didn't expect numbers like that against the real teams. Sure enough what you said happened later in the season.

Oh yeah, since yall brought him up. Screw Gabe Wright.:the_finger: Not for going to AU, but for leading the coaches on till NSD. I feel like we could have gotten Mackey if not for that SOBs and Dawsons lying.

We had Mackey, he was committed to the staff but switched to Texas Tech on NSD.

DB original committed to Texas A&M, while at the same time had bad things to say about LSU's coaching staff, actually some of it was on video.

From what I heard his Dad and him sat down with Les and apologized, LSU took his commitment. I pretty sure the family wants him at LSU. Rumor was spreading when he found out Hill would be in the 2012 class he was not happy, I don't know if that is true.

It would seem like A&M would be out of the mix now with the coaching change, that would leave Tennessee and Arkansas as real possibilities.

As far how LSU uses RBs as expressed by one on this thread, the stats don't lie there. One second you could be the 4th or 5th string RB at LSU the next game you could be the go to guy.

Really nothing has changed at LSU, Hill was set to be in the 2011 class, the only thing that has happened is now he is in the 2012 class. I would imagine DB is a RS candidate, Hill will not RS, so by DB's sophomore year it will be Hillard(Sr.), Magee(Sr.), Hill(Jr.) and Dourqure(RS Soph).

I figured, considering that article is literally his dad speaking for him.

Yeah, you can go and find video of DB talking bad about LSU somewhere, I think his dad came in and took over, which in the long-run is probably best for the kid wherever they decide to go.

No kid is bigger than the school, we already had Perriloux try that out. Perriloux had about as much talent as I have ever seen and he completely blew it. If you are going to blow it, you at least blow it like J. Russell did. :)

Ha ha he did indeed blow it in style. The stories about him after he moved back to Mobile are insane.
