Need a good recipie for sausage bread.....k thanks
What is this sausage bread you speak of? Must know!
Behr! Recipe! NOW@!
Funny this came up. I made sausage pinwheels last night with the leftover sausage from the sausage cheese balls.
I normally make my dough from scratch but I had some Bisquick I wanted to use up.
This is what I would do for more of a bread-like item.
Roast a clove of garlic with olive oil. While that's roasting make the dough.
Let the garlic cool, squeeze the garlic from the skin into the olive oil, mash it with a fork and mix it with the oil.
Pour it in the dough with a little chopped fresh rosemary (please don't use dried rosemary for this), cracked black pepper and some shaved Parmesan cheese (not Kraft grated in the green can) and mix (kneed) really well.
Roll the dough until it's about an 1/8 inch thick.
Mix sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese in with the sausage of your choice. (I like Tennessee Pride Hot)
Spread the sausage and cheese mixture over the dough about the same thickness.
Start with the edge and roll into a "loaf".
Bake it at 350 degrees until it's a nice golden brown (30-40 minutes) depending on your oven.
I have brushed it with egg wash, it makes a nice presentation but really doesn't matter otherwise.
Hope that will suffice.
