Vol for Life:salute:
Welcome to the best college football family in the world

Born in Knoxville, TN at St Marys hospital in 1961, was raised in Clearsprings, small community between Mascot and Blaine on the Holston river. Started becoming a fan at the age of 6 and have been one ever since. I live in Knoxville now about 10 minutes from the stadium and my daughter attends UT

I'm from Tennessee but voted EUROPE for my girlfriend who is a huge Tennessee fan but doesn't follow this forum (her English isnt so great).

I may be moving to Concord by next season.I'll need some advice on a few things. Like where are the fish biting and where to catch a ppv UT game.

No problem...hit me up once you start to move this way...if that's what ends up happening. :good!:

I see there are quite a few Vols fans here in NC.

Born and raised in Georgia, but I would love to live in Knoxville. I would also love to attend UT for graduate school but it's a bit pricey right now. Everyone I know who went there loved it and had a good experience. An undergrad professor I had, and whom I greatly admire, is a die-hard fan and one of the reasons I would like to attend. I was previously a blind follower of the Ga Bulldogs because that is who my dad pulls for and only recently started following the Vols more closely. I have only followed college ball for a couple of years (learning the sport, rules, teams, etc.) so if you think July is late I will see your July and raise you my October. That was the GA/TN game and the day I fell in love with the Vols, the UT campus, and Knoxville. I took my sister (Dawg fan) for her birthday and for my own edification of UT. It really is something to behold. I want to learn as much about the team and their history as possible before I become a true fan (see: certain BAMA "fans") and that is where I am at now. I have since been to the LSU and USCjr. games, and I will be at the Vandy game. Next season will be my first full season as a Big Orange fan and I can hardly wait. I love the tradition, pride, songs, colors, mascot, campus, history--you name it. I make the 3 hour drive, there and back, because there is nothing like Knoxville on gameday. I hope you can see it for yourself one day! It is never too late to become a Vols fan.

Sounds like you had a good time! Enjoy the Vandy game, that should be awesome! I will be up watching at ridiculous o'clock praying that our dreams of a bowl game don't die!

Hi Nation,

Just interested to see where the fanbase for the Volunteers comes from in the world..

This has probably been done before, but hey, it only takes a second to vote!

I'll start off by introducing myself,

I'm 17 from London England and have supported the Vols since July this year... (I know, but you have to start somewhere). I have however been watching American sports since 2005. So I do sort of know my stuff. I am not an ignorant Brit who thinks Football is Rugby is for wimps or anything. I am a passionate fan who only watches American sports. (And owns truck loads of gear)

I started supporting the Vols after making friends with someone who went to UT at a family wedding in July. I was about to start watching College football anyway so I decided to give the Vols a shot. I never looked back! It's such a great community to be a part of and a great team to cheer on. You guys all rock!

VOLS FOR LIFE!

Stephen

Great to have you, and thanks for the support.

I think you'll find that we American's are not as ignorant as the rest of the world believes we are regarding other cultures and national sports. Instead, we just love our sports with a deep passion - especially in the Southern US where college football is "king."

Here's a link to a recent TV show highlighting the culture of the South Eastern US (You Dont Know Dixie — History.com TV Episodes, Schedule, & Video). Don't know if you can get this in the UK, but it does a great job of summing up us Southerners.

I don't think I can but I will take a look later as it looks like an interesting watch... We have the history channel but the schedule may be different.

And don't worry, I know you guys are not ignorant. I dont think that for a second. Infact I spend a lot of time defending you because I am not going to lie, over here Americans are the end of more than one joke shall we say. And yes I do find it offensive....

I still don't quite know why it's like that though... It makes me angry sometimes.

. . . over here Americans are the end of more than one joke shall we say. And yes I do find it offensive . . .

We're typically not offended by such - too much good ol' American pride.

Never had a chance to make it the UK, only Northern Ireland. Still loved what little bit of the English culture I was exposed to, though. It was a great experience.

Born and raised in Kingsport, TN.
Lived in Knoxville during my 4 1/2 years at UT
Lived in Charleston, SC 4 since I graduated (A city in America you must visit).

Born and live Georgia. Unfortunately there are no good traditional teams to pull for down here and my Dad's side of the family(the better side) is from Knoxville. So I have been around it all of my life. GBO!!

From a small town (480 people) in Northern Alberta, Canada called Glendon. I now live with my family in North Dakota...I've been a fan of the Vols for about 20 years now...

Thank you! I will think about you and all of our fans that are there in spirit. It should be pretty good. It would be nice to get one for the fans and the Dooley. He needs it.

About an hour from the IU campus in Indiana....Terre Haute area for those familiar with the Hoosier State
