Congratulations to Peyton and all of his fans. He played well and proved his detractors, myself included, wrong. As an aside, the boys from the "U" certainly represented the 305 well tonight.

Manning recognized it and frequently took advantage, getting the ball to a receiver 5 yards out who then had time to turn up field and find a crease.

I assume 305 is a Miami area code? Devin Hester and Reggie Wayne were pretty good tonight.

it's not an IF any more....Irvin is in this year's class. Monk is out yet again.

Peter King on Inside the NFL had a good interview aobut the HOF voting....and he admitted that this year might be the best chance that Monk has at getting in, and that he was voting for him.

obviously, it didn't work. Irivn, Thurman Thomas and 3 others got in. no Monk.

Actually, Monk should certainly be in the HOF. I've never quite figured out what the case against him is built from. He was a consistently productive player with really good teams.

Maybe because he's not outspoken and infront of the football community on a weekly basis. Compared to Irvin.

I think this is really the on big reason that Monk is not in the HOF. He was a guy that kept to himself, and was relatively quite.

Alex Brown was disruptive at times. The forced fumble where he came clean through the line gave me flashbacks.

Definitely. Wasn't there another ex-Gator on the Chicago D-Line? We need to hire away whoever Florida has as their D-Line coach.

Or maybe even Temple. As bad as the Temple program is as a whole, they seem to put alot of roster players in the NFL. Mostly linemen. There were two starting ex-Temple linemen. One for each team.

As far as Rex. He was going to take a beating whether they won or lost. He caught too much flack for inconsistency. Ironic that they were on him all year, yet they only lost what, four games, and made the SB. Not bad for a shakey QB. Just think if someone could work with him and settle him down. His mental processing during plays needs honing. His talent to handle the job is more than adequate. He just needs to get the wind to quit blowing between the ears.

Why would we do that? We have put just as many of our d-line guys, if not more, in the NFL than has Florida. John Henderson, Haynesworth, Harylson, McDaniel, and many many more, and about to add Justin Harrell to that mix, as well as Turk McBride. I would say we have done our part...

Actually, here's a point on which I agree with the pro-UT posters more than the pro-UF posters. Florida as an institution is getting better about recruiting defensive players, but UT has still, historically speaking, been much more productive of good and great NFL defensive linemen. We may catch up, but it'll be awhile.
