Why would Peyton not be a good coach, maybe he should come in as OC for a short stint first though. Have you ever seen anyone study the game more than Peyton? Plus he would probably be a good recruiter.

great players rarely equal even good coaches. no way do i want anyone who has no proven track record as a coach to come in to UT and be OC or HC of anything.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of Gruden but I'd give him a shot. I think the window of opportunity to get Gruden in Knoxville is pretty small and Hamilton is not going to act within that window (kind of like UT probably could've had Butch Davis at the end of last season).
What's so sexy about Butch Davis? I'm not convinced he is really as good as all of the hype he seems to have following him, but maybe thats just me.

Charlie Strong! After what he did this year .... and the fact that he was a holdover from the Zook era and still managed to convince Urban to hang on to him. Plus NC winning coordinators of gators have had pretty darn good success as head coaches havent they?

Didn't you know? Urban Meyer taught Charlie Strong everything he knows about defense. Charlie should thank Urb for letting him come along for the ride.
