He seems like a level-headed kid. That should bode well for all the pressures that come with playing QB at Tennessee.

Bray should have the starting job on lockdown until he either graduates or enters the draft.

I think you should wait until the end of this season before you say that. If Bray bombs this year, then I don't see why the competition isn't opened back up again. Nothing is guaranteed right now. We HOPE he will be good, but nothing is certain. However, if he does have the starting job on lockdown, then that's a great thing for our program. But I don't think anyone should ever be assumed the starter at any point in time, anybody can get passed up.

I will never assume a QB has the job on lockdown after a good freshman season. I learned that lesson from Ainge.

I was thinking of the Florida QB from the 90's that could throw the ball.

You're thinking--possibly--of Danny Wuerffel?

There's many, many jokes that could be made about Florida QBs and their throwing abilities, but just thinking about Danny Awful toting a Heisman Trophy makes me want to puke and punch ESPN right in the face.

Shuler was a much bigger bust than Wuerffel.

Heath had a rough start to his NFL career then it ended due to a terrible injury. Kerry Collins who came out about the same time had the same kind of start but eventually learned the game and had a decent career.

Wuerrful was a great guy but never had NFL talent.

Yeah he was awful allright. Did you watch the UT-UF game his senior year? We hit that guy like 20 times in that game. It was the worst beating I ever saw laid on an opposing QB except maybe for the Testaverde and Tanneyhill massacres. The difference in those two clowns and Wuerrful was he kept getting up and throwing TDs. I hated him but he won my respect. He definitely deserved the Heisman. NFL bust.. who cares? That has zero to do with how great of a college QB he was.
