You realize Rivals takes height and weight measures from whoever they can get them from. Friends, girlfriends, basically anyone. Their measurements have been proven to be BS several times in the past. Rarely are they confirmed height, weight from camps. You might want to stop.

Makes one wonder if they can't get a kid's weight and height reasonably close, why should their star rating be so readily accepted by the masses?

Stars are a joke. A great deal more creedence should be put on a kid's offer list.

I wish people would just think about it. How do these Rival and Scout analysts know which players to "scout"? They start with the players who have been offered by bigger schools, who have shown out at bigger schools' camps, and who have considerable interest from bigger schools.

Everyone makes it an argument about whether to follow Rival/Scout star ratings or just put faith in coachs' evaluations. IMO, all these sites do is "scout" the players who have favorable evaluations from different coaching staffs. For example, Nathan Peterman has a favorable evaluation by the Tennessee coaching staff, gets offered, and commits on the spot. In effect, the analysts come flying onto the scene to say "he's been blowing up at camps" and "he'll be moving up in our next re-ranking session." These sites base their star rankings off of the bigger schools' coaching evaluations, simple as that IMO.

This is not a shot at anyone at all, BTW.

Even offer lists aren't always accurate. Kids might have an offer contigent on player A,B, and C saying no, but they want to tell Rivals and Scout that "Texas has offered, USC has offered" etc.........

Correct. They'll tell the analysts for a given site that school X has offered, but they probably don't tell them the offer isn't commitable.

FCA camp at stetson Bartram Trail QB Nate Peterman had a great day hooking up for several deep balls to Bobby Walker and Jared Crump

- RT from Chris Nee. Impressing at another camp today.

So at work today I met a young man who played with peterman last year and he had this to say:

Great kid and really smart. He works hard and has great work ethic to get better as a QB

He was confused on a commit to Tennessee because peterman is used to a lot of running since his team is based on option and wishbone offenses. I then told him our coaches evaluated him at camp and he understood.

Also admitted that his school doesn't use his skill set at qb like they should but he does have a good arm and can play qb at 6'2 230 and looks bigger than that in person.

I didn't realize he was that thick, of course everyone looks bigger compared to Bray.

Always nice to have a QB that can make plays with their feet as well as passing it. Puts a lot of pressure on opposing defenses.

Can you give a summary of what it says about him for those poor souls that don't have a subscription.

It doesn't say anything about him other than listing him as one of the 'others who impressed'; "QB Nathan Peterman, Fruit Cove (Fla.) Bartram Trail, Jimbo Fisher Football Camp". Article is titled: Stock Up: Summer Camp Risers.

Nee just told me Peterman will be brought up for potential 4-star status ... This doesn't assure anything, but at least he's in the discussion. Same with Peters

A crime that peters isn't already a four star. Peterman I could understand if they held off though. Santos and peters not being four stars is the biggest oversight

I see Peterman, Peters, and Santos definately getting bumped. Lewis and Redding are ehh maybe's, and Henderson and Blanc getting 3 stars. Henderson will be a 5.7 IMO, Rivals has a history of not 'over' bumping someone once they've neglected an eval.

Tennessee came in relatively late in my decision, but my family and I really felt that this is where He was leading me and wanted me to go. I have always had the dream to play big-time college football in the SEC and really felt that God was opening the door to make my dream possible.

I am so excited to call myself a Tennessee Volunteer and look forward to all the opportunities that God has laid out for my future.

I really respect that answer. I'm looking forward to watching this kid. It's going to be an interesting competition between Bray, Worley, and Peterman next year.

that article on Scout is very good. If any of yall have a sub., yall should check it out

Bray should have the starting job on lockdown until he either graduates or enters the draft.
