I think they will go 16 teams. I think we are on the cusp of something big happening.

A&M..........Virgina Tech.........Clemson..........Oklahoma

South Carolina would never let Clemson join, and since it requires 75% of schools to approve a new member, they would have a mutual interest with Georgia (GT) and Florida (FSU, Miami) to block Clemson from joining. Then they would just need one more school to block Clemson from joining.

Have we seen any quotes from SEC sources saying Texas A&M is joining? All I see are quotes from Texas A&M and Big 12 people.

Hmmm that's interesting. I was wondering if they might go after (of course the obvious) Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Missouri to go with A&M. I do have to admit Va Tech has an interesting ring to it as well.....:hi:

I think they are just rumors at the moment. They are in meetings with the SEC (per ESPN). I would say that we are on the Verge of something happening.

I would love to see us go to 16 teams. We would be able to leave the NCAA:good!: and go to a playoff system. That would be 4 or 5 weeks of great football.

With 16 teams, you would rarely play the teams in the other division...once a year unless you expand conference play.

I love the faith that some of you have in our staff. All of you are so sure that Dalton will bail on his commitment if A&M goes to the SEC, as if the ONLY reason Dalton chose UT over aTm was because we are in the SEC. Did you guys ever consider the possibility that Dalton actually LIKES UT better? That he actually PREFERS us over them? Geez folks have a little faith! Our staff is not going to give him up without a fight.

Santos might prefer Tennessee, but there will be A LOT of hometown pressure on him to play for A&M once the rationale for his decision is gone.

:good!:

Why would they weaken us? Have you seen the top 25 poll? Way ahead of us. No way they weaken us.

The poll indicates their ranking with their current schedule of Big 12 opponents. They would be playing SEC opponents if they make the move. You think they would have the same ranking if their current schedule included 8 teams from the SEC not named Vandy?

The only problem I have with Santos, he has de-committed before. I love this kid and hope he will stay with the VOLS. I do trust our staff, I worry when we have a guy that has de-committed from another school. It's almost like he knows that he can. Look, family and friends are a very powerful and it would be very easy to listen to them.

We area so paranoid. I really dont want A&M because they would weaken our conference. Another spread team would suck.

A&M doesnt run the spread. we use a pro style offense. and i didnt know being in the top 25 was considered weak

I don't think that A&M would weaken our conference. They have great tradition, and love football like an SEC school. I do believe they would be a middle of the road team at best. A&M is supposed to have one of their best seasons in a while this year, and would have to fight to finish 3rd or 4th in the SEC West. If I was an A&M fan, I wouldn't want to come over.

Christine Michael is as good as any RB in the SEC. period. point blank.
Jeff Fuller is as good as Alshon Jeffery.

A&M would be competitive, more than likely, more competitive than we have been the last couple years.

I would be the first to admit that and I also realize that UT has weakened the conference. My point is that A&M is not worth bringing into the fold.

Arky, UA, AU, OM, MSU, LSU, and two from the East. Who, pray tell, does your top 25 team beat out of that bunch? I may be mistaken but I thought I saw a lot of shotgun with A&M last year.

Didn't I read somewhere that his family was willing to re-locate to any area he chose to play college ball?

You honestly don't think aTm could beat the Barn this year? I would expect us to beat the Barn, if we played them this year.

That being said Santos said it himself that UT is where he can be tha most productive as a player and a man.We got better facilities...Put more players in tha NFL...We doing BIG things at UT and Santos will be here 2 knock guys out at MLB. GBO!!!!!!! Sorry if I got carried away but I can't wait til tha season starts.

Santos is coming to UT because he loved UT and really likes Sirmon. That SEC stuff is just a nice way of getting A&M of his back. Saban wanted this kid bad and that says a lot. Santos is solid to UT, imo.
