Guess we're not recruiting this guy hard enough. Sounds like Dooley and Staff need to get on the stick unless they have better prospects in the bag.
how many DT/DE offers does Bama have out? I can name about 10-12 kids that has Bama in their Top 3-5. Unreal....that's coming from a Gator. lol
No doubt the front 7 is a huge piority to them. The question is can they land the talent needed there to be able to legitimately compete for championships over the next several years? They are going to have to be able to.
"Alabama, Mississippi State, and Auburn stand out to me. Id say Alabama and Mississippi State are recruiting me the hardest right now.
Im really starting to think this isnt the case. The "multiple visit" crap and "visit everybody else before you commit" crap is gonna come back to bite us.
This is starting to get ridiculous. You have to be able to sell playing time in the SEC. Come to our school, start in a better than decent defense and start early in the SEC. You can be noticed by the NFL here. Surely this is part of their pitch?????

I doubt they have a better prospect in the bag than Autry at DE. Some staff's just work harder in recruiting than others. That isn't saying all staff's dont work hard but some put in 24/7 type work to land talent. Just look at what Clemson has done the last few years. They are getting elite talent now without having great records or on-field results to sell.

Yeah, just look at what Clemson is doing... Chevy Camaros and stacks of money. Maybe Dooley should do the same thing.
Montrell, you and Pace are on the same wavelength. Maybe Dooley should hire you two as consultants to straighten him out. Why, you two might as well friend each other on Facebook.:boobies:
Kevin Steele is a monster recruiter. Our staff not recruiting the hardest or not being mentioned as one of the hardest recruiting staffs is getting kinda old. We're recruiting Patterson the hardest but not this D-lineman huh? This is crazy...... it is what it is.

Sorry, I have never got into the whole Facebook thing. As for trying to persude me to accept a position on UT's coaching staff I would have to decline. I would imagine when CDD saw the tractor trailer backing into the loading dock with 26 pallets of "Hot Sauce"...he would question my tactics. As I stated before..I have no doubt that once all the other SEC teams fill up...there will be alot of "solid" diamonds in the rough to pick from. I have no doubt they will ALL be very under rated and we can all question Rivals and Scout as to why they hate the Vols and will not move our class to a top 15 standing. GO VOLS!!
If CDD is truly trying to rebuild the program you do it from ground up and not bring in a guy for the most 2 years. You create a foundation and build on it with players like J James. Yes JUCOs bring quick fixes but do not solve the problem long term.
JUCO may bring 1 or 2 more wins a season but if UT wants to get back to the top JUCOs will not do it alone. JUCOs are good when you have all of talent and you need a plug but as a cornerstone and I think UT would want a player that would be there atleast 3 years.Again JMO.
And before someone says what about AU with Cam and Nick lets not kid ourselves about all the other talent around them. Whcih will be very apparant this year with so much gone.
While I do agree with you that you don't build a program with JUCO's, I will defend CDD in that this program was depleted and with the mess that went on for the last two years many recruits are going to be hesitant until you prove yourself. In our situation here he may have to fill holes with JUCO's until we have a good winning season. JMO
I concur but my point I guess I should say would UT rather land some top JUCO DL players or top HS DL players. Especially with limited space each class where should the resources be focused. A player that only has 2 years before they are replaced or a player that has 4 years and so other positions can also be filled in those next years as to filling each year with the same position.
I just see UT much like UA after Shula with a need at alot of different positions. Not saying Autry would not be a great addition and I am sure CDD would add him. I just think they may be directing more of their recruiting resources for players like Jenkins, Shanks, and other top HS prospects first.
Also Aurty said he will not make a decision until Nov probably so UT still has time if others go elsewhere. The other schools he said that were recruiting him the hardest have the luxury to go after a JUCO this early and who even knows by the time he is ready to commit spots at some of these school who are feeling up quickly will probably be gone.
I would tend to think CDD may be after some Juco talent as he needs guys to compete for playing time NOW and it appears the top HS talent is not looking toward Tenenssee. We had a losing record last year...if it happens again this year...CDD will be on the hot seat. I am not sure he has time to develop 4-5 recruiting classes before he would be sent packing. JMO
I think UT brought him in to stay the course. Especially with the NCAA still looming and the lack of resources left after the last 2 years I think UT understands they may have very few options for replacing him. CDD seems to be the type of coach that no matter what happens will stay and see it through and I think UT hired based on that.
The fans may not like the results if slow but the school is not only rebuilding the foorball program but the image.
