'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

Jmo from what I've heard in my digging around he's really good. They said he was the man everytime he stepped on the field in HS and that Auburn was stupid for not taking his committ. Got a feeling Coleman will be his biggest competition out of all the guys on campus. He has size and physicallity on all those guys. We'll see what happens we he gets here but I'm feeling more and more like the new guys including Coleman will see a lot of time.

I'm not saying Lanier is bad by any means, I mean he had a very nice offer list. I just havent seen any film of him playing DB to say he is a for sure starter yet.

I agree w/ you on Coleman, he has the talent & measureables to be very very good but I dont want to put alot of expectations on him this season w/ him only being a Freshmen.

I've got expectations for Coleman because he already was a co-starter at the end of Spring. He'll develop more than any of the guys we already have here. He's young but he's good and we don't have enough players to keep from at the least playing in the nickel package.

He was a starter b/c we barley had enough DB's to do anything w/. I mean Goins played just as many snaps as Coleman did.

Coleman will def get PT this season.

I don't think anyone one knows what the depth chart will look like on D until season starts. I don't think Wilcox could tell you.

Moore is the 1 corner from the jump.
Waggner is the nickel corner.

Our secondary
Janzen S
Brewer S
Moore CB
Lanier CB
Waggner nickel.

For some reason people seem not to be getting the message. The staff measured the existing CBs last season and they were found WANTING. That is the entire reason you used scholarships on two JUCO CBs.

Moore & Lanier are "Expected" to start.

No different than if we would have landed Dequan Menzie. these guys are brought in to play Immediately

Who is filling in to help the depth out at safety? After Jackson and Brewer, who does Tennessee really have available. Would you move Lanier or waggner to safety to help if loften and Martin are the two non qualifiers?

Moore can play Safety if needed.

I really wish we had got Menzie. He's going to be one of the best CBs in the league this year. He's Bama's best CB easily. I really hope Lanier and Moore play well for us. I also want to see what Coleman can do for us. I really think he'll take that nickel role over during the season. We need a fast physical nickel instead of soft tackling guy like Waggner.

Waggner started in Janzen's spot at FS all spring. Waggner can play either position but he is a better CB and our best returning CB. it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Well, with Tino not currently in and Lanier currently out of shape, I hope Justin Coleman is soaking up the playbook.

Just heard that hes already back in shape. Something about fast twitch muscle fibers.
