JimmyHyams‎ UT has informed Bruce Pearl that he will be fired. Buyout was hangup over the weekend. Chancellor Jimmy Cheek made the call, I'm told.

Apart from everything else, it's great news that the UTK chancellor finally has oversight over his campus's own athletic department.

I was talking earlier to my dad, who goes to church with former UT president Joe Johnson, who has apparently been livid that Pearl wasn't fired much earlier. Let's hope that this move at least indicates that we're finally going to have some leadership in UT administration.

I had a friend who was that press conference. Afterwards, he said Fulmer sought out Briscoe and "blasted him" for doing that.
