JimmyHyams‎ UT has informed Bruce Pearl that he will be fired. Buyout was hangup over the weekend. Chancellor Jimmy Cheek made the call, I'm told.

We hire a new coach.

Never realized how young some of the folks on this board are. Your remark about Pearl being there during your first year was an eye-opener.

Maybe we could hire Wade Houston or Buzz Peterson. Oh yeah that's right 10 years down the tube already.

Shaka Smart would a be a risk (but hiring anyone is) that could have a tremendous upside.

He is smart and can recruit. In this day and age his youth is an advantage.

Probably will take another 15 to 20 years before we find anyone close to as good as Pearl. He was a once in lifetime coach for our program and will be missed! We should have kept him no doubt about it.

hamilton will screw up the new hire

It's getting to the point you have to start blaming whomever Hamilton reports. Hamilton has proved he is incapable of making a good decision when it comes to coaches. If his boss continues to allow him to make a decision knowing he is incapable, then the boss needs to hold some accountability as well.
