I'm sure these guys are lifting hundreds of pounds unlike your 75 you worked up too :)

good point, the most i ever benched was 300 pounds. not too bad i guess since i only weigh 175.

Anyhow, if an average joe like me can increase 50 pounds in 7 weeks, then why is a bonfide NCAA progam with millions of dollars poured into the S&C only seeing gains of 25 pounds?

I hope that is true, but honestly, I find it hard to believe. Maybe a guy or two, but across the board? Hope he isn't giving them a "special" smoothie to drink each day.

It's the law of diminishing returns. The further you have to go, the more potential for rapid improvement.

Eventually you max out.

New guy's gonna wear some wool sweaters, then. Turtlenecks. And I'm not talking merino wool-I'm talking lamb's wool.

Yeah but the LSU guy coaches from a sauna while pacing over hot coals And wearing a suit of armor.

Most of these cats are benching over 300 lbs easily to start with.

When I was 220 lbs I benched a max rep of 405...now at 242 I'm still only at 415, but that's a HUGE difference.

The run up to a milestone like 300 can come quickly, but once you get so heavy it really starts to slow down. a 25 lb increase on a bench press when that's not the only thing you're focusing on can be quite an accomplishment for guys who are probably pressing 350+.

Not impressed really.

My friend showed me a program in increase my bench by 50 pounds in 7 weeks, and it worked, several times.

Then why dont you present your "program" to UT and interview for the job? Your high school harry workout isnt the same workout chief.

Didn't he come from ucf or usf? I thought their players were known for being quick and not getting gassed in the 4th quarter.
Thats the best thing said so far on this thread
