New commitment!!!!

it doesn't matter if you are afraid or not.

johnny come lately has won 18 of the last 24 (soon to be 19 of the last 25)

If you are the same 99gator who posts on the KNS site, you're comments are always polite, and well thought out. As far as most of us are concerned you are an asset to this board. My apologies for someone else being rude.

Exactly. If Florida didn't even recruit him, we didn't steal him. They're letting us take him.

More like giving him to us with a chance if they decide later that they like him to become Indian givers and take him back!:lolabove:

The point is if he does get a huge jump in profile and Florida decides they want him he will probably be a gator. Hopefully it doesnt happen and he turns out to be a good player for us.

and what are you basing that on? My guess is you just pulled that from a dark place

Yeah because UT is inferior. UF et al can pull anyone they want from TN but UT could never convince a kid from G'ville to be a Vol.

Right now we are, as a team...and the fact still remains that Florida did not offer. We clearly didn't "steal" him from them...I'm not sure how you can act otherwise.

What "fact" are you trying to prove? That 3-stars improve with college coaching just like every other player ever?
If you think every player that gets to college improves, your crazy. All one has to do is look back over the years to all the can't miss studs Fulmer recruited who never even saw the field, let alone improved. Your post is ridiculous.

florida is only going after so many defensive lineman this year as they got an incredible haul last year.

they are not after this kid.

best of luck to this kid and to tennessee.

i would be more concerned that there were no offers from fsu, miami and georgia either.

Every college kid gets stronger and learns more about the game. Pretty much all of them are better players than they were in high school. That doesn't mean they all become starters...

Just a guess but, is it possible that CDD is looking more at the competitive level that these kids play at? What I mean is, maybe Dooley is more impressed with a 3-star that does well in a highly competitive high school program and conference, rather than a 5 star who plays in podunk east bumble (like Bryce Brown).

I didn't say UT had. IF the kid sticks with UT and IF he becomes a good player then we may look back in 2-3 years and say, "Hey, Dooley stole one right out from under Meyer's nose".

My response is to those who have this incredible, incredible inferiority complex for UT football. UT is down right now. UT has some significant disadvantages which unfortunately include a roster that was decimated after Fulmer and Kiffin. But UT is a great historical program. There's no reason to think ANYONE gets a recruit over UT just because of their name or historical significance in the CFB world.

I think you and I disagree on alot of stuff but we both have high expectations. Some people say they do but then expect to always take a back seat to UF, Bama, ND, et al. If UT offers a kid who holds offers from other powers... they automatically assume UT loses.

Means nothing. College coaches obviously believe Newberry is the superior prospect. Their offer lists aren't remotely comparable.

I see. The kid was more productive in the same division and garner more respect from the coaches in that division than Newberry... but that means nothing because it tends against your auto-bias.

FTR, I'm not saying the kid is better. But if he weren't in the same range talent wise then he wouldn't have been voted above Newberry.

I haven't even seen anywhere, other than here, that this guy has committed.
