My response is to those who have this incredible, incredible inferiority complex for UT football. UT is down right now. UT has some significant disadvantages which unfortunately include a roster that was decimated after Fulmer and Kiffin. But UT is a great historical program. There's no reason to think ANYONE gets a recruit over UT just because of their name or historical significance in the CFB world.

I think you and I disagree on alot of stuff but we both have high expectations. Some people say they do but then expect to always take a back seat to UF, Bama, ND, et al. If UT offers a kid who holds offers from other powers... they automatically assume UT loses.

I agree with you on most things. It just so happens that our biggest disagreement is also the #1 topic on VolNation these days. I expect us to compete with those schools in recruiting. That's why I'm somewhat disappointed with what we have now. We should be competing for kids Florida offers, not settling for the ones they don't.

FTR, I'm not saying the kid is better. But if he weren't in the same range talent wise then he wouldn't have been voted above Newberry.

Not necessarily. HS production and talent aren't the same thing, just as there are many who put up numbers in college and don't get drafted at all.

people like tee, peyton, henry, travis stevens, al wilson, meachem, washinton, stallworth, little, price, munoz, john henderson, etc. were preety good recruits IMO

Whoever said this kid has a good offer list is not very bright. Iowa St, Central Florida, Florida International, Marshall, and Troy just to name the "big" offers he has.

It is alot like the journolist (leftist media types) calling conservative commentators racists. It doesn't really have to be true... just needs to deflects attention from something they'd rather not talk about. It is the 'When the facts don't support your position... start an argument' strategy.

Weren't last years seniors rated a top three recruiting class at the time?

Oregon thought enough of this kid to make an offer. They were better than our Vols last year.

It must suck for a player as a person when their worth is decided by a little yellow star on the internet. I'm sure he will feel really welcomed after reading this thread.
