I want to pose some questions to those that don't support the Dooley hire. Set aside the fact that he had a losing record in a weaker conference. I get that and it's a strong argument that suggests he will not get the job done here but that's the past...

I want to know what decisions has Derek Dooley made since being hired that has you thinking he is way over his head? What has he done, staff hires, violations, comments made, anything that suggests that he is just the worst thing for Tennessee?

I look forward to your responses.

We should have went after a big name coach, everyone knows that a big name coach is the way to go. It would have made us better immediately. If you dont believe me, ask a Michigan Woulverine fan!!

Honestly, I don't think there's any way to tell right now.

In regards to Kiffin, I see/read all the time about his woeful record as a head coach. The won-loss record looks pretty bad because he was the coach of the Raiders during the JaMarcus Russell years. Who would have taken those Raider teams to the Super Bowl?

Similarly, who could have won with those La. Tech teams? What would you reasonably expect a guy to do with a program like that. Signs pointed to him turning things around (a bowl win one season) there.

Further, Nick Saban couldn't get it done on the pro level, and I think he's the best college coach there is. You realize Bama is like 24-0 in it's last 2 regular seasons?

Dooley learned under him. He retained two good assistants from the former regime, and hired several others. He's not an a$$ like the former coach, and won't embarras us.

That's good enough for me right now.

Im glad you made a central location for this topic, but you can read just about any thread on Volnation and find all the negativity you want.

Dooley is on a real short leash, if he doesn't get us to a bowl game, 75% of the UT fans are calling for his head.

What's my biggest fear with Dooley?

He'll get us up to consistently winning 8 or 9 games a year, but we'll always finish 2nd or 3rd in the East, and the only trophies we're going to be gaining under him are one's from the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

There's also a possibility that we end up turning into a program like Minnesota; a program with once proud tradition, that's lucky to finish 6th or 7th in the league each year.
