MLB 10: The Show

played some more last night and noticed another "glitch" type thing. twice i had a hit and run goal and both times got a base hit and the runner was thrown out trying to advance to third and i got a fail both times. i also had a couple of amusing things happen last night. i hit a long fly ball that ended up being foul but my batter was doing the carlton fisk wave it back fair move. later on i hit a HR to left that bounced off the left fielders head and went over the wall and the announcers even said, "what the canseco is going on here?"

i have a crappy video i took of it last night and posted it to youtube but it hadn't finished processing last night when i went to bed, i'll try it when i get home. it made me laugh quite a bit

My take on the 8000 post "my road to the show" threads on other sites.

Elroy McBudweiser angrily drove his wife to the hospital because she was leaking all over the floor of his rusted out flatbed in Opp, Alabama

After the delivery, Elroy said "darlin', he's small for a human, but he would make a jumbo bass"

18 years later, the story of Jumbo Bass begins....

As much as the in-game goals are dumb, I have to take issue with a positive result coming on grounding into a DP with runners on 1st and 2nd nobody out with the man moving to 3rd, but a fly ball with a man on 2nd which advances him is a fail.

Love the game, don't get me wrong, but

1st and 3rd, bottom of the 9th with 2 out, why put a pinch runner in at 1st?

i agree there are some things that in real baseball wouldn't happen, like when the 1st baseman holds the runner at first with the bases loaded.

finished up year two last night, spent the whole season in AAA ball, ended with a .372 avg 8 HRs and 55ish RBIs in less than 350 ABs. Got the contract offer in the offseason to be a starter for the Indians. Had a less than impressive spring training but the third game of the regular season i did manage to pull off back-to-back AB HRs and got the little bronze trophy for it.

Im in year four....Finally in the starting lineup for the Rays...and I tear my groin. I was second for Rookie of the Year, until the injury.

since i started the season in the majors i'm gunning hard for ROY. i'm going to put as many points as possible on durability so hopefully i don't spend half the season on the DL

It really sucks because when it happened I had 140 AB's so officially after this season I will not be considered a rookie.

year #5....Everyday Rf'er for the Rays.

Hit .355/10HR/56RBI....and did not make the All Star Team.

WTF????

anyone make a pitcher? seems like most everyone makes a slugger...

I made a pitcher and love it. I pitched in college and have always therefore I went that route. Up to Triple A with the Reds in year 2 as the 5th starter and am 3-0 with a 1 something ERA. I only have 3 pitches right now because I am trying to build them up before blowing tons of points trying for a 4th pitch...

yeah...i just made my pitcher last night. love him. not that good skill point wise but already have a 4-2 record as a RP with a WHIP and ERA under one. Manager is going to give me a start soon. The only problem is I got drafted into my mortal enemies farm system...the red sox...:banghead2:

wow...somethings in this game are amazing....others not so much. the training goals for RTTS are a little messed up. why would a manager want a starting pitcher to develop his bunting ability so much...to the point to where i am choosing not to develop my pitching. it would be a passable argument in the NL...but for an AL manager to want me to bunt better then control my fastball....wth. and it seems you ranking in the organization is simply just you overall value...not your stats. I am 10-2 with era of 1.12 and a 10k/9 plus i have thrown 3 complete game shut outs in a row and i am still ranked at the bottom of the barrel in terms the pitching prospects in the organization. The banter is getting a little stale. But the game play is smooth. The blow calls in the strike zone are annoying but realistic at the same time. Had and umpire last night that really would not give me the low outside corner. and i have notice some that like calling the high strike.
