Well...if one is well-connected, then there should be some solid evidence to make dogmatic statements like that.FYI... HVWarrior had a lot to do with putting together this recruiting forum on VN. He has a pretty solid creds, imo.
A lot of folks speculated that VY was washed up...even Coach Fisher stubbornly felt Kerry Collins gave the Titans the best chance to win...with a horrible completion percentage and TD to INT ratio....even with a 0-6 record. I was one of the few that clamored for VY to be given the chance...before we flushed his career down the toilet. He's shutting the mouths of a whole bunch of speculators and naysayers right about now. Saying the very same kinds of things your are...that he's not a fit, not mature enough, etc, etc. There aren't many options for another QB right now. Scroggins isn't that interested. Rees may or may not look at us. Same with Rettig. Simms got benched. Newton isn't the best match for our offense and is a character issue. It is possible that the coaches may go with Stephens/Lamaison/Bray for next year and push for 2 high end QBs in the next class.

We have too many chiefs around here talking like they are on the staff, and giving us the low down on what transpires in the coaches meetings. You will usually here me state when I'm going on a hunch or just speculating. It get's old to hear people speak so definitively when they don't know any more than you or I.
Newton isn't your typical JUCO QB. He's not there cause he was thrown off the team for too many failed drug tests, armed robbery with a bb gun...he's not there cause he can't play.Maybe, maybe not. JUCO QBs rarely come in and make a great impact, especially in their first year. He digressed from his Fr year to his So year at UF. He's blowing it up in JUCO, but so did Lamaison, so did Brent. It'd be just as possible for him to come in and be more of a distraction than a savior and I don't think this staff is backed that far into a corner. If we fail next year, it will be because of our revamped OL.
If he's an EE, I bet he is...and I'm not even a betting man. Why does the staff NEED to pull the trigger early with a JUCO QB, again? Why would it not be prudent to wait and evaluate the guy the whole season? What if he starts out hot and tanks toward the end? If you jump the gun, you just committed yourself.Nope, I just know that it was enough for us to not offer him. If it wasn't enough, as I said, he would be a Vol. I'm not going to argue over his abilities. He's a prospect for sure, but he isn't going to show up anywhere and be All-SEC like some people think.
If they room him up with a leader on the team with a good head on their shoulders...Walker or BB maybe?...I don't think we'll have anything to worry about with the guy. As the Proverb says "The Wise walk with the Wise, but the companion of fools suffer destruction."I stand corrected. He is an EE. I was thinking of someone else apparently.
I thought there was some tension between the two...or at least some rumblings along those lines, when Nuke was acting like he was going to transfer. Maybe jealous Teague was getting PT while he wasn't. May be nothing to that, but I don't know that we can assume he and Teague were best buds.Nuke and Teague were roommates. Doesn't always work out like you plan because he will still hang out with others.
