Tennessee had no shot against Alabama and Pitt in '80. No chance at UGA and USC in '81. LSU, Auburn, and Washington State were unwinnable in '88. Miami would have beaten us 100 times out of 100 in '02. No shot against Florida in '94. No chance against Florida in '07 and '08. That's all the hopeless games I can remember. None have been a bigger lost cause than Saturday.I've been watching UT football for over 30 years, and I'm pretty sure that this is the first game in that entire span that I have felt like we had almost literally zero chance to win. If they played this game 100 times, UF would win 98 or 99 of them. No QB + no OL = no credible passing threat = no running game = a ton of 3 and outs = an exhausted defense = asskicking.
I'm confident that our guys aren't going to quit, though. That's not acceptable anymore. It'll be worth watching the 4th quarter no matter how bad it is just to see evidence of how much the culture has changed.
