it's obvious that the three game homestand that follows will determine how the season plays out for UT. Win all three, you can still win 8 games. Win two, bowl eligibility is still likely. Lose two and the whole thing comes unhinged.

The good news: Lane now understands what Crompton can and cannot do.

The bad news: We may run out of cortisone for our O-Line before the season is over.

On paper, losing two appears to be the most likely outcome. And with a trip to Tuscaloosa looming, an 0-4 start in SEC play isn't all that inconceivable.

On the other hand....Kiff has emphasized the importance of turnovers since the day he arrived at UT. It's critical to the success of this team to protect the football. If they can muster a positive turnover ratio in both games, I wouldn't be surprised to see them grind out wins over Auburn and Georgia.

Most negative SOBs I've ever been around. Come on evern a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then! Why don't we just stop the season now and give the championship to CUM and save some pain?

Our team can beat these guys and if not as long as they don't quit in the second half and are still fighting that is one heck of an improvment.

Amen to that. Richards, Shaw, Sullins, Pope and McClendon are all banged up. Where's Bill Romanoski when you need him.

Crompton's blind?

We need to figure out which QB can manage a football game using the most basic passing plays and a lot of running plays.

No. Don't get your hopes up.

The most interesting thing will be watching the coaching staff fighting the mental unraveling of the team.

They talked a big game and improvement before the season started, now that they've got a bloody nose it'll be interesting to see how they and the coaching staff lead them to react.

The only thing that we have an advantage is in this game is our db's vs their wr's. If they can take away the deep pass it should be interesting for maybe the 1st half.. But if we don't then I expect this game to get out of hand early...

Florida 31-10

I've been watching UT football for over 30 years, and I'm pretty sure that this is the first game in that entire span that I have felt like we had almost literally zero chance to win. If they played this game 100 times, UF would win 98 or 99 of them. No QB + no OL = no credible passing threat = no running game = a ton of 3 and outs = an exhausted defense = asskicking.

I'm confident that our guys aren't going to quit, though. That's not acceptable anymore. It'll be worth watching the 4th quarter no matter how bad it is just to see evidence of how much the culture has changed.

Bowl eligibility means a lot to this team. Not for the sake of playing in some dump bowl, but the practice time it will entail. This team really needs a lot of time to develop and develop cohesion with the stall and each other.

That said, I have no clue what to expect. If our offense doesn't get a lot better then 6-6 at best.

Florida- L
Ohio- W
Auburn- W
Georgia- Toss-up (49% -W, 51% -L)

And Jonathan Crompton will be the starting QB for all those games.
