2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I have a gut feeling we land Juke and Tanner returns back to Vandy.

We get...
Juke
T Hill
Ames
Lunderblade
Haralson
Rubin

What does that gut feeling actually feel like? Is it something like gnawing, gnawing, gnawing that just won’t go away? If that’s what you’re describing then I have that feeling, too.

Juke might also be content taking 3.5 or so knowing more will be left to build the team around him.

He's in the portal to go play somewhere he can win, I'm a bit surprised he's not considering the draft with his size/stats/age...but maybe he thinks 1 more year with a better team will increase his stock.

If this is true, significantly cheaper than I expected.

If that's the upper range of what Michigan and Carolina are offering, we should be well positioned to get this done, no? I don't really know a lot about Basilio's reputation for accuracy, but his Monday blog speculated that we are prepared to go north of 6 to bring Juke to Knoxville.

He ticked me off today. The more I see people that feel the same and the more he gets snarky when people prove him wrong or call him out after he denies saying something, I’ve just had enough. I guess Im noticing it more, dude turns everything into being about him. “I said this and ____got mad at me”, etc etc etc.
He’s a pathological liar who profits off our beloved vols by telling people what they want to hear, stroking his own ego and starting drama. Everyone who refuses to engage with him is helping Tennessee athletics. He is toxic.

Also....portal ratings are weird.

Allen Graves is the #7 portal player according to On3 Industry

6'9" Forward from Santa Clara who scored 11.8ppg, 6.5rpg, off the bench playing 22.6mpg...he shot 51.2% FG and 41.3% 3PT

How is that guy rated higher than Paulius from Saint Mary's...6'8" 18.4ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.1apg, on 48.2% FG and 33.3% 3PT

Land both of them would mean 11 guys in the boat and then your down to 2 open spots with 4 potential ones if walk ons are not coming back for spots 14 and 15 as @bleedingTNorange has mentioned. Gotta think landing Tanner, Hill, Juke, and then Massamba coming back or walk on would be the best finish you could possibly hope for.

Henderson/Clark
Ames/Burg/Green
Lundblade/Washington
Haralson/Scott
Rubin/Brown
Small point but potentially relevant for numbers, Burg hasn't said what he's doing yet, wouldn't count him on roster just yet.

With the way the roster/at least named recruits are being talked about, think we are going to be "smaller" this year with our 4s being stretching 4s. If we get Tanner, Hill, Juke, Haralson (ok, still a big if on most of those guys), just don't see where all the minutes go if we also get another PF and play Jalen mostly at the 3. We already have Ames and Lundblade. Could see something like this:

Tanner / Henderson / Clark
Hill / Ames / Green
Harris / Lundblade / Scott / Massamba
Haralson / Washington
Rubin / Brown

That's 14 guys, obviously room for one more actual addition, and our front court is relatively thin/could use that addition, but then if all those other guys are playing 1-3 someone we brought in/multiple people are gonna definitely be let down with their playing time.

What position would Haralson play for us? Hes listed as a CG
For a recent Tennessee comp, a significantly more aggressive version of Josiah Jordan James, perhaps? Without the outside shot. JP Prince or Tyler Smith for an older comp. He's a 3/4 (wing/PF) who gets to the basket and finishes extremely well in traffic. Good ball-handler for his position, really good passer, moves well without the ball. Kind of that point forward we've been missing. If he can add an outside shot (one of Barnes's strengths as a coach), he has All-SEC ability.

I especially like having 4 players that can dribble in the open court...

You throw out a lineup like Tanner, Dai Dai, Juke, Haralson and Rubin and you have 4 legit drive by you guys and finish at the rim types with 3 of them also being catch & shoot targets for kick outs.

Tanner | 30 MPG
Hill | 25 MPG
Harris | 30 MPG
Haralson | 25 MPG
Rubin | 25 MPG
-
Ames | 20 MPG
Lundblade | 20 MPG
Brown | 20 MPG
Washington/Scott | 5 MPG

I mean, it can work - just may have to be more position-less with our 2-4 group.
