A guy who can average 17 a game in a major conference at decent efficiency even though he’s on a bad team is a welcome addition.

Plus, he looks like a combo guard to me, and that versatility can be really valuable, depending on how this roster ends up being constructed

It’s just hard for me to believe we’ll get a “big fish” out of the portal. That’s just not who we’re able to get unless they grew up here like Chaz and Gillespie. They’re too expensive. I think we’ll get a group of B/B+ players

Why do we always think there’s some secret ace in the hole guy we’re going to get that nobody knows about? It happens every portal season in every sport. It’s like a mini Gruden cycle every year, and it never materializes. If we were in consideration for “big game” guys, I think that would have leaked out just like the rest of these names.

Yep, take for sure. I like the optimism around here. We're ready to sign this guy as a backup whe averages big numbers in a power five conference. I guess we have Kyrie and Curry coming in to be starters. Barnes is really on it.

I don’t think the names are that secret. It’s pretty well documented that we are after Juke Harris and a point guard that has yet to enter the portal. No one is claiming (at least not me) that we are 100% locking them down but I think it’s a real possibility. There’s plenty of smoke in both instances. One of the reasons it’s slower is the nba draft process.

Sorry it’s just there are some jerks in here that all they want to do is be an A$$ and that’s why I rarely get on here anymore. Sorry just thought you trying to be one of those. I apologize for jumping to conclusions.

I for one greatly appreciate the effort from Barnes and staff to go after an elite roster. It is incredibly risky and if you fail it blows up in your face but I think we actually have the money to do it this year.

The evidence should be in the mass exodus of our current roster. To me that signals significant change. But that’s just me…

Just from 10+ years of following these things, when the only smoke is coming from message board posters, it’s not happening. When AP, Mike Wilson, Trilly, etc say it’s real, I’ll believe it. But none of them are talking about those guys like there is really something going on with them.
