They were shooters. This is a big who doesn’t see the same level of athlete as the SEC.A couple guys by the name of Dalton Knecht and Chaz Lanier also came from mid majors. I'm not sure how much that matters anymore in the age of near parity.
Thankfully there are analytics to help with this sort of challenge. Basic averages aren’t comparable when teams play vastly different competition. Chaz Lanier offensive efficiency metrics his last year at N Florida were incredible. And Dalton’s last year at N Colorado his player comps were pretty dang goodA couple guys by the name of Dalton Knecht and Chaz Lanier also came from mid majors. Fair enough, I just remember the same mid-major skepticism being directed at both Knecht and Lanier, shooters though they were, when they came on board. When you look at their stats as a whole, I'm just not sure why there would be an assumption Rubin would be a depth piece while Okpara started at Center on two Elite 8 teams and Rubin surpassed him this year in virtually every category. You might be right, I just don't see why he would be assumed to be a backup. They were shooters. This is a big who doesn’t see the same level of athlete as the SEC.
Look, as I said, I trust the staff and am a glass half full person. I just looked at his numbers, and his FT % was terrible all 3 years and his FG % dipped this past season. He also averages 2 turnovers a game at the 5. I just see him as a very solid role player for rebounds and defense. Just not sure he’s our starter in the SEC at the 5.
Sorry you spent all that time constructing this reply when my point was simply that we shouldn't relegate prospects to the bench because they're from mid major programs when we've seen plenty of evidence within our own program that in many cases they can handle themselves just fine in the big bad SEC.Thankfully there are analytics to help with this sort of challenge. You should take a few seconds to read my reply becuase it directly addresses your pointSorry you spent all that time constructing this reply when my point was simply that we shouldn't relegate prospects to the bench because they're from mid major programs when we've seen plenty of evidence within our own program that they can handle themselves just fine in the big bad SEC.
Yes what’s been proven is that the analytics can be a useful guide! They were with Lanier and DK who you site as examples, and they are not so friendly to this guy Miles.I read it. Seems like you're working awfully hard to try and prove something that's been unproven with huge success in our own program. It's late, you must be bored. Take care.
Bishop’s mom taking shots out the door at the program. Classy.
I would like to see what he does without Cream Abdul-Jabbar for the first time. I’m on board with making the Iowa State coach say no.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to go to Chicago and have great seats 8 row from the bench and with player's families. Game versus Michigan we sat next to Felix's mom and she was a delight. Spoke with Ament's dad another great person. Boswell's mom was behind us and a different story. At one point, when Boswell got pulled she yelled to the bench and Barnes "why would you take your best defensive player out of the game". One of the multiple comments that made us shake our head. Reminded me of some little league parents.

I think this program finally needs to spend on getting a big, strong, physical, versatile frontcourt (clearly was huge for F4 teams), but Miles Rubin would be a nice add. Big time shot blocker with versatility and some actual feel on offense. Can make passes to other players cutting backdoor. Good athlete
