Did the judge ever get tired of whatever he was doing and decide to finally get off his fat rump and make a decision?

I say just the opposite. These are supposed to be student-athletes, not professional students. I would love to see his original SATs and GRE. I don't support any player sticking around for NIL because they have no NFL shot. If allowed, they should become employees of the University and part of a collective bargaining agreement.
That cow left the barn a long time ago and it's not going back in

One was to grant an addition year for JUCO guys. This case is to eliminate any JUCO seasons as counting against eligibility.
That sounds right. The problem is this judge already denied an additional year to Aguilar, who was JUCO the same year that Pavia got an additional year ruled. No telling why this judge ruled against himself between Pavia and Aguilar. I can’t tell if he wants to put an end to a problem or if he’s a homer politician who abused his authority to help Vandy.

It’s the same judge that ruled in favor of Pavia. Is he now going to rule against himself?
One thing seems to be clear. Pavia's lawsuit gave him a 4th year of playing Division 1 football. He played 2 years at New Mexico State - NCAA Division I, and 2 years at Vanderbilt- NCAA Division I. Prior to that, he played 2 years at New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) - junior college (JUCO) football. Joey has followed the same path. He played 2 years at Appalachian State- NCAA Division I, and 1 year of football at Tennessee - NCAA Division I. Prior to that, he attended City College of San Francisco (2019-2020): Redshirted n 2019, and did not play in 2020 due to pandemic (Covid) season cancellation. After that, he attended Diablo Valley College (2021-2022) where he started for two seasons, earning a move to Division I.

If Pavia got the chance to play his 4th year of Division 1 football after 2 years of playing JC football, why doesn't Joey deserve the same ruling from the same judge? I know the Pavia ruling specifically mentioned it was just for the 2025 season. However, in the judge's commentary he mentioned that a major reason he granted the 4th year was because if Pavia was to sue the NCAA for that 4th year of eligibility, he would stand a very good chance of winning his case. Mainly due to anti trust laws that will not deny the opportunity of a person to earn the same as others in his basic situation. Those same laws are still in effect. So to rule against Joey's opportunity of earning money during his 4th year of D1 football would be a 180 degree decision of 2 persons under the same circumstances.

No, this judge hasn't ruled anything for or against Aguilar. In fact, Joey would have been out of eligibility but for the Pavia lawsuit last year. That's the reason he was able to play in 2025.

Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar has been granted voluntary dismissal from Diego Pavia's lawsuit seeking additional eligibility for ex-JUCO players.

Kind of late in the game isn’t it?
Wonder if this lawyer is going to present a different argument.

ETA. Read the post on X. May allow to file in a State court which has been more successful than Federal

Someone in the comments said to expect a new filing in a TN court. That fits with leaving the Pavia class action.

Not really. They’ll compete and the third man prob transfers unless is faizon who I imagine will wait his turn at least a year
Players cannot enter the transfer portal now so if Joey A comes back we will have 4 scholarship QBs or UT will either not offer Joey A a scholarship or pull the new QBs scholarship.

It would look ugly to not offer Joey A, of course, but it would look awful to pull the new QBs scholarship also.

The portal is closed. No players that aren't already in the portal can transfer until December 2026 when the portal reopens.
