That cow left the barn a long time ago and it's not going back inI say just the opposite. These are supposed to be student-athletes, not professional students. I would love to see his original SATs and GRE. I don't support any player sticking around for NIL because they have no NFL shot. If allowed, they should become employees of the University and part of a collective bargaining agreement.
That sounds right. The problem is this judge already denied an additional year to Aguilar, who was JUCO the same year that Pavia got an additional year ruled. No telling why this judge ruled against himself between Pavia and Aguilar. I can’t tell if he wants to put an end to a problem or if he’s a homer politician who abused his authority to help Vandy. One was to grant an addition year for JUCO guys. This case is to eliminate any JUCO seasons as counting against eligibility.
One thing seems to be clear. Pavia's lawsuit gave him a 4th year of playing Division 1 football. He played 2 years at New Mexico State - NCAA Division I, and 2 years at Vanderbilt- NCAA Division I. Prior to that, he played 2 years at New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) - junior college (JUCO) football. Joey has followed the same path. He played 2 years at Appalachian State- NCAA Division I, and 1 year of football at Tennessee - NCAA Division I. Prior to that, he attended City College of San Francisco (2019-2020): Redshirted n 2019, and did not play in 2020 due to pandemic (Covid) season cancellation. After that, he attended Diablo Valley College (2021-2022) where he started for two seasons, earning a move to Division I.It’s the same judge that ruled in favor of Pavia. Is he now going to rule against himself?
No, this judge hasn't ruled anything for or against Aguilar. In fact, Joey would have been out of eligibility but for the Pavia lawsuit last year. That's the reason he was able to play in 2025.That sounds right. Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar has been granted voluntary dismissal from Diego Pavia's lawsuit seeking additional eligibility for ex-JUCO players.
Players cannot enter the transfer portal now so if Joey A comes back we will have 4 scholarship QBs or UT will either not offer Joey A a scholarship or pull the new QBs scholarship. Not really. They’ll compete and the third man prob transfers unless is faizon who I imagine will wait his turn at least a year
