I’m just not going to get into it anymore because minds have been made up. Risacher had the best shooting percentage numbers of the last 5 number one picks. Shot the 3 better than all of them. Obviously, his production wasn’t nearly as good, but he also played less minutes than all. Several played nearly 10 more minutes per game. I don’t follow the Hawks. Maybe he’s a bad defender; maybe they had better personnel than most teams with a number one pick. But he was second in voting in Rookie of the Year. He’s got more time to develop. It’s dumb to write him off now. He’s been awful in a historically bad draft class.

I think the chances of this happening are about 5%, but part of me wonders if Ament would consider coming back for his Sophomore year considering this is being lauded as one of the best draft classes in the past few decades and he’s underperformed.
It’s likely that he will still go in the Top 15 on tools alone, which is all the NBA has ever cared about, but if he does fall closer to the 20-25 range, I wonder if he’d start seriously thinking about a return and try and get back in that Top 5-10 range. Highly doubtful, but don’t think it’s impossible.
Ive thought about that possibility, but how do you approach that if you are Tennessee? No way you're paying him another $4 mil to return, right? Are you even comfortable paying him $2 - 2.5 mil? But you know someone will overpay on name and hype alone. So do you even get him back for a second year if he decides to give e it another go?I think the chances of this happening are about 5%, but part of me wonders if Ament would consider coming back for his Sophomore year considering this is being lauded as one of the best draft classes in the past few decades and he’s underperformed.

yes but only if he has a supporting cast around him -- this whole team is bad/inconsistantIve thought about that possibility, but how do you approach that if you are Tennessee? If he got 4 million. Dollars , the university needs ask for a refund then . His Peformanxe thus far has been pathetic. TruthI’m still not convinced he’s being paid $4 million, but I’m not sure if we’ll ever know the full story on any recruit in any sport and how much they’re being paid. Regardless, you’d probably have to consider approaching it with a mutual understanding of taking a small discount to help fund help around Ament so the team can win. At least, that’s how I’d approach it instead of saying “You suck, take less money.”
I don’t think he’d go for it, and if we don’t pay it some other team will do so. I’ve seen enough flashes from him to feel like his tools are worth investing in even if we have to overpay to keep him. What he really needs is a full off-season in the S&C program and then maybe you start to see his potential realized.
Highly doubt any of this comes to fruition, as I fully expect him to go pro even if his stock falls to the 20s. It’s fun to speculate though, and if you managed to keep most of this team together in the off-season and put a few new pieces around Ament, like a true primary 2 guard and a JG replacement, you basically have a complete roster with what we expect to return next year.
You clearly don't know how the curse works. Ament is destined to be a weak shadow of what we had hoped for this year. So he decides to stay in college for another season, but transfers. He bulks up and blows up at his next school to become a top 5 guy in the draft.he wouldnt transfer if the Vols can add a few shooting guards to the mix
