Ament will improve

You would if he missed them. Those tricky double standards the dark side employs.
Double standards, you %}*{¥ want to talk about double standards when I never questioned his two point shooting to start with it's his 3 point shooting that I questioned and to that point he was 0-3, stick that in your %~*| and sit on it.

Where did you reference 3’s? Here is what I responded to.

Oh please don't say that, bleedingTnorange will come along and share what a wonderful shooter he is🙄
Well he did shoot 85% on 2’s last night.
Xxx

There you have it. But 60% for the game is a FACT too.

This thread is on some stank shyt.
A true freshman consistently rebounding , defending , good passer , and averaging double figures.
It is rare for any freshman ever to average 20+ points in college on 60% fg 40% 3s all while jerking off an entire fan base.
Hope you all get laid for new year and chill tf out.
Ament is doing just fine and will be a lottery pick. We are lucky he is at Tennessee and that's a fact

There was a moment last night when Boswell made a turnover trying to make a play on a fast-ish break and get the ball into the post. It was not a good pass but it kind of looked like the right decision. Barnes immediately subbed. I thought it sent the wrong message. I wish he would hold Ament to anything like that same level of accountability.
I don't necessarily disagree re: Ament but BB is not a FR and is statistically our worst player for t/o's by a lot vs. the rest of team who are averaging 15 or more mpg which probably explains the short leash from CRB esp as we are about to enter conf play.

So many people in this thread just so caught up with the hoopla of “5 star” ratings and the hype around it… at the end of the day, Nate is a freshman with lots of potential and room for growth! Some freshman grasp the level of college play quicker than others, and Nate just so happen to fall in the “others” category, but it doesn’t take away the fact that he’s skilled and have so much room for growth! He’s yet to reach his ceiling and for fans, I’m sure, you want to see it reached before he leaves, but I think he will be able to contribute more ways as the season continues and his confidence grows!

I’m sure there’s a lot of pressure, and Nate will eventually be more consistent and gain the confidence he needs to add to the pressure. It’s just fans just typically not patient enough for that to happen..

I think he will be just fine and he will be crowned Freshman of the Year when it’s all said and done.

I believe during the ten days between the Illinois game and the Louisville game, and then two "practice" games the staff will have the opportunity to work on some individual skills with Nate Ament. He's not quick/explosive right now. Too deliberate. Some change of pace, pumps, etc would serve him well. But, any new moves need repetitions. He will soon enough become a better scorer. By conference season we'll start to see if it will be this year. JMO
Ament will improve because he cannot get any worse. Poor shooter, poor fundamental passer, and weak defensively. He has nowhere to go but up.

Ament is trending into the Nico category and classification, Gillespie is not a point guard he is a two guard, Boswell is better when he does not have to dribble, not sure if Amari Evans can play point, foul shots effort is deplorable, ugly Tennessee basketball

We will never know how good Ament could be or become. He needs at least another year to develop to high level basketball.

He won’t get that in college. He will try it out in the NBA meat grinder. I’m not sure what the success rate is of unproven talented but inconsistent freshman going through the NBA g league is….but I know it’s not high

Barnes has a track record of developing talent as he stacks years.

We will never see what Aments ceiling is in college. And we may never see it in the NBA

Ament was overrated and it’s time to accept that if you’ve not already. He will probably still get picked in the first round, but it will be based on potential. He’s a decent SEC player at this stage of his career. Denying that is denying what we’ve seen ever since we started playing teams with a pulse. Him playing 30+ minutes in a game isn’t going to be a winning formula.

I hope the rest of you wake up eventually.

Amari Evans is the best freshman on campus and it’s not close right now.
