You’re giving him grief for a team that lost their coach? And they were top ten in the nation and number one in stop rate before Franklin was fired. Top five defenses at OSU. And top ten at Oklahoma state.
Is that accurate? The only three real teams Penn State had played was Oregon 32 pts, UCLA 42 pts and Northwestern 22 pts allowed.

I was going to make a comment that Michigan really only fired Moore because he wasn't cutting it and got him on a minor infraction of an undisclosed, unprofessional relationship with a staffer (like Petrino)

Getting arrested immediately is clear this is waaaay more serious.

Tells me the staffer is either underage (unlikely) or he forced himself on someone and there's credible, obvious evidence of it. This was swift.

I'm a little confused why everyone keeps saying it takes several years for his defenses to show improvement. His first year at OSU his unit improved from 59th the in 2021 to 14th in 2022 which was his first year. In 2023 they improved to 3rd and than in 2024 they were 1st in total and scoring defense and national champions. In 2021 he had Oklahoma State at 4th in total defense. That's impressive at Oklahoma State and since he left they have become the laughing stock of college football. The more I look, the more I like. Seems like a Grand Freaking Slam hire by Heupel to me.

I've heard a lot of Penn state fans complaining about how he's unable/unwilling to dumb down his complex system, and players are too often out of position.

With our offense, I really hope we just shoot for having a decent defense instead of a complicated high ceiling/low floor approach.
PSU fans have a program that is sinking fast and hard. Of course they aren't going to have positive things to say. And the negative voices will always be louder.
