OU’s offense is trash tho. Close game.
Would love to see Tulane beat Ole Miss but they lost by 5 TDs when they played during regular season.
Oregon big prob.
Miami - A&M should be best game. No idea who wins that.
Yea, after looking into him, hes not that impressive. I think the 4-3 is out dated anyways. Kinda wish we'd get an up-and-comer that has an up to date defense and can recruit. Idk......doesnt look like we're in the market .That’s another DC that I looked up that statistically worse than the 2022-2024 years. All of his Wilcox defenses(as DC) gave up more points than Tennessee from 22-24 except his one year at wisconsin.
I don't think the majority of the fan base believes that the lingering sanctions/probation are a true impediment to recruiting and winning at the highest level. Especially when they look at the middle of the state and see Peabody boat-racing us in Neyland, 2-3 years removed from being a 6A high school team. People aren't going to stay engaged through two more seasons of poor fundamentals and inconsistent effort.
Ole Miss won't have Lane and likely few sit out to follow him to Ole Miss I think. But I think Tulane's entire staff is coaching their playoff run.
OU's offense is trash, could be a similar game to Ohio State vs Indiana...Bama playing an extra game and OU having an extra week to recover/rest and being the home turf is what I'm thinking separates it. They won at Bama in regular season.
That would be smart when he goes 8-4 again with a below average DC. Surely that gets the fans really on board. LolHe needs to tell the fanbase to kiss his azz.
I disagree... it's not like we aren't able to get talent. I think most agree two of our losses could have been potentially prevented with better coaching/development, game management, play calling/alignment and personnel adjustments on the field, putting aside some bonehead penalties, etc...He's safe until probation is over. Probation lasts through the summer of '28. So he has at least two more seasons to regain that good will.

Year 5- 8-4 with an embarrassing belt to ass to end the season at home by our instate rival that is usually the doormat of the conference.
Year 6- if you aren't competing for championships or playoff berths, with our resources, supposed great coaching staff that is good enough to be retained once again, then something is broken and is not getting fixed. We're clearly going the wrong way...
If we don't pick up serious talent at positions of need on defense in the portal, and then field the same type of defense next season in year 6, anyone defending that crap is clueless.
Tennessee has 4.2 million at stake in relation to Banks contract. That’s real money and if they plan on going in a different direction I am sure they would like to reduce that by helping him find employment elsewhere. Heupel might also be back channeling potential replacements to see if he can actually upgrade. There really is no big hurry in my view. He might also just decide to keep him. Heupel knows the issues and I would prefer he does the smartest thing instead of trying to be the quickest. If Heupel is going to make a move, what is he waiting for? Signing Day has passed. Is he planning on waiting until after the bowl game? I honestly don't think Banks is leaving of his own accord. DC positions are being filled fast, and no one seems like they want to take him off our hands. After this past season, I find it hard to believe he's a serious contender for a HC position. So it comes down to whether or not Heupel is willing to let him go and if the university is willing to pay his buyout. Heupel has Fulmer loyalty. By that, I mean he seems more loyal to his staff than he is to doing what is best for the team. I'm hoping he proves me wrong, but I have to see it to believe it at this point.
Even if he does make staff moves, we have to hope he doesn't fall back on hiring from within. We need some new blood on this staff. Fresh faces and fresh ideas. The defense especially needs help, but some new ideas on offense wouldn't hurt either.
I'm thinking Heupel finds a reason to retain Banks. Probably to retain everyone. But if he plans on making a move, the longer we wait, the fewer his options IMO. All the coaching turnover created a ton of staff openings, and they are getting filled rather quickly.
Josh Heupel is responsible for winning. If he doesn’t win enough then we will find another coach that can. Our fans can’t tell you what a good DC is. They keep mentioning guys that have ran worse defenses than the guy that we have now. That would be smart when he goes 8-4 again with a below average DC. Surely that gets the fans really on board. Lol
If people haven’t noticed, others are getting better and investing more. We have to as well to keep up. We hav put more into NIL but we have to upgrade our staff. You know you don’t have the right coaches when people aren’t stealing them or trying to. No one wants half of our staff.
Personally, I’m almost as worried about our offense as I am the defense. We get so stagnant at times. It could be that the defense being so lackluster puts too much pressure on the O. Gotta get Banks out though.

Ol Piss knew they were marrying a whore...they will now sadly live with the lifelong STDs. I feel for them, but it is their own fault. I hope Lane chokes at LSU...LSU thinks they are getting Saban, they will burn him at the stake when they figure out he ain't that.Ole Miss won't have Lane and likely few sit out to follow him to Ole Miss I think. But I think Tulane's entire staff is coaching their playoff run.

And some of that fanbase are billionaires who fund your NIL and want a better defense to justify the money they put into NIL.Probably not the smartest thing to do considering your defense just got butchered at home after being bent over the table for every game this year outside of Florida and d2 schools.
The simple truth is that in year 5, given the steady improvement in talent, there is no justification for being nearly last in the conference. I assure you that UGA or Bama wouldn't accept it. Why are we? Everyone deals with injuries. Why do ours make being the worst acceptable?I'll tell ya, it is hilarious how some on here have worked themselves into frenzy over firing Banks. He has gone from bordering on greatness last year to anything would be better. Justin Wilcox? Man maybe some of you don't remember or were not born but newsflash we really sucked back then.
Our misery began with the firing of CPF. Anything would be better than CPF, he only wins ten games a year and that is unacceptable.
Sometimes this board reminds me of the "Fansville" commercials. Those commercials are eerily spot on. Maybe Banks could show them his garage packed With Dr. Pepper.
