Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Cedric Tillman is not going to be in the league in 2 years. He's gotten knocked out cold at least once each of the last 3 years.
He’s literally their best receiver but don’t have a good qb and is never thrown too unless it’s to get knocked out smh. Shadeur isn’t bad but he can’t attack the outside and always throws over the middle and mainly to tight ends. Really wish Ced got drafted elsewhere. Praying for him cause that looked bad today.

If he did, it would be to help him find a good landing spot in the portal. The bowl games are pointless at this point anyway and have lost their luster. Why not help our guys going into the portal? Merk deserves that having stuck here for so long.
If they think GMac can be the guy next year, why not play him and let him get real game experience?

December 8, 2025: Keep pressing on until you achieve breakthrough. Seek the truth and pursue it. There are things you need to do and steps you need to take as you progress. I will make a way where there seems to be no way. Put your trust in the Lord. Behold, I am with you always. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. So out of the hundreds of snaps he logged as a true freshman only one play stands out? Yes it was a critical mistake but all things considered he was as advertised. He was brought in with the understanding he’d be the LT in 2026 and beyond and that hasn’t changed IMO. Heard IMO is a RT at the next level and needs to do what Darnell Wright did and make the switch. If he doesn’t then Sanders will be the LT and Perry will be the RT (his best position).
Keep posting in here and bringing football sense. Add in Sanders was playing hurt with a shoulder issue all season.

I needed this. Thank you

Steve Spags is a dream DC
Yup. If he would take it, hire the man.

Folks need to wake up and realize CFB is now an alternative professional sport. Big time money has arrived. Yes, one step down - Triple A like in performance - just supported far better because of the college and tradition aspect. Life changing money for many players and all coaches to go with the extended careers.

The horse has left the barn, there is no reigning it back in without collective bargaining, which only makes it more so.

So, the flagship brand for adidas needs to jump in the pool with both feet and hire the best staff they can hire - now. Their lack of commitment to hiring the best will be confirmation they are all about the money for themselves and expect to continue to soak the fan base.

Crossroads time for the program.

Have to also factor in talent level. Jancek had significantly less talent and depth as Banks.
I don’t think he had significantly less talent but we probably weren’t as deep. Here is the two deep at Tennessee in 2016:
DE D Barnett all time leading sack leader
DE Kongbo solid back up for Barnett
DT Vickers 7 yr nfl vet
DT Tuttle NFL vetweran
DT D OBrien solid player but eventually kicked off
DT K Mckenzie 5* solid but didn’t live up to his billing
DE DE C vereen solid player
DE L Lewis solid back up
LB Reeves Maybin NFL veteran
LB D Kirkland great player but stayed nicked up
LB C Jumper
LB C Mcdowell solid player
LB Q Sapp up and down back up
CB C Sutton NFL Veteran
CB E Mosley NFL Veteran
NB Double Gauldebs
NB M Foreman
S M Abernathy
S N. Warrior
S T Kelly Jr

I think the front end talent is close to what Banks has had and possibly even better. We do have better depth but you have to take into consideration that other teams do as well. Teams weren’t loaded with veteran transfers when Jancek coached. We never would have had to face Paris back during the old rules.

Botch used to sign big classes. I think our depth is better. But if I recall in those days our 2nd and 3rd string was bad. Botch also had a massive influx of in state talent, and more specifically legacy players. Dont have any data to support, but id wager our overall depth is better, in part bc we pay players. I do recall all three safeties having family ties.

Kahlil was an OG, playing DT.
