yeah, it became obvious a few years ago they were making arbitrary decisions. If that wasn't the point of the committee in the first place, they would have kept using a computer to figure out the rankings.

If a team is sitting at #9 or 10 and lose conference championship, I could see them getting left out .. especially this season...

Really? You think Oregon and USC are sure wins every year and of the 3 teams that might be able to get in the way you list Indiana, who for the last hundred years were an automatic win . Indiana proves any team is 1 HC hire away from being a playoff contender virtually overnight.

No, but this brings up the point that conference championship games are completely meaningless. If there’s no consequence for losing, what’s even the point?

I used to think it was my personal responsibility to correct everyone who is ever wrong on the internet.

Thank the Lord I dissuaded myself of that. Once you realize no one else's wrong-thinking is at all your responsibility to correct, you can just let people be as wrong as they want as often as they want. It's freeing.

This is not a response to anything specific on this board or anywhere else. Just something that's helped me that I thought might help someone else.

My brain doesn't work on Sundays apparently since I completely forgot to mention Oregon. USC on the other hand I'm not sure will ever be a consistent contender in the B10. It's not as appealing of a job as it once was.

Regardless, there is a lot of mediocrity in the B10. Not every game is a dogfight like in the SEC. In today's day and age of college sports when the stakes are higher than ever and the pressure on coaches is more present than ever, a coach restarting his clock after a disappointing season could be viewed as pretty appealing.

If Alabama is sitting at #10 and BYU at #11. Alabama better win the SEC Championship game be cause if BYU beats Texas Tech in Big 12 Championship game then 2 Big 12 teams make CFP and Alabama drops out.. also Notre Dame isn't safe either with the other two automatic Conference champions could be Tulane and James Madison.

Was at the game. It was pretty loud. A lot of seats open in the upper deck and behind the UT bench. Maybe drop prices a little. Fill it up. However its not up to the fans to cheer constantly while we are getting pounded by vandy. Dropped 2 racks on food, drinks, parking and tickets.
