Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

He wouldn't have that many yards if he has trouble getting the ball in his hands.

He’s had 2 for sure dropped TDs this season so it stands out a lot. But exactly. It’s not like drops a lot of passes. It’s just the ones he has were big. He’s still a great WR that has the potential to be elite.

I’m calling it now. Mark this post at 1:57pm on 11/30/2025:

Bama loses in the conference title game and at 9-3 makes it in over a 1-loss Ole Miss. And the committee will say it’s because they lost their coaches.

Not related to Bama but brings up another discussion - do you think teams that are”in” but then lose conference championship games should be left out due to that L?

Thoughts from everyone?

A real super coach Nick Saban was remarkably average in the NFL where he didn’t have vastly superior players and depth. Great coaches will magically have great players. Does anyone think Ryan Day beats Heupel if they swap rosters? Spend the money on players and suddenly your coach will be better.
The super coach thing is first and foremost, they are super at getting the best players and can develop and coach them.
This isn’t the NFL where the GM can go out spend the most money and get the best players.
The Schools can’t go out shopping for the coach and spend the money on players so he can be a super coach. That’s his job and the “super coaches “ do it better.

In the current format, yes should be left out. In a 16-team expanded format, no. But that’s probably because they’re already in or around Top 15 if they’re in a decent conference (ACC not included).

That would be absolutely insane. But the precedence has been set when they bumped undefeated fsu when their starting qb got injured.

No. The playoffs should mostly be set this week. Only thing that should change is a bid thief like a Duke or JMU bumping out the last at large (Miami), but if you have to play an extra game you shouldn’t be punished while other teams sit at home.

The committee said previously that the loss in CG would not hurt but could help teams.

Looks like Blake Baker will either be staying at LSU or heading to UF
I heard someone bring him up for a head job at one of these openings but don't recall if it was LSU or somewhere else. I don't believe the Gator booster who suggested Florida would be hiring him. That whole conversation wasn't made public by accident. I don't care what anyone says to try and convince me otherwise.
