'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus Vanderbilt Pre-game/Game Thread

I can vividly remember when I started to really question or was out on a coach.

1) Butch......shook his hand at the Vol walk and two things struck me, number one how short he was number two he looked scared...... And we were playing Ohio. I told my wife then and there he wasn't going to last. Fired the next season I think.

2) Pruit......... The loss to Georgia St, I think it was, and after the game he said he had a feeling the team wasn't mentally dialed in.

I knew at both those moments they weren't the coach we needed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I feel that way about Heupel........... But for the first time I'm starting to question........ looking at him a little different.

It's obvious we need change on Defense, like as soon as signing day is complete inform the man we're moving on. Now the issue is can we actually upgrade? Who's out there, higher profile jobs also looking for staff. Who do you want and who would come if offered?

Horrible way to end the season, and yes, the season is over. I'll be interested to see if we keep some of our playmakers and if we hold our commits and close out with undecided or flips.

I'm going to add this to my statement above, the defense was bad tonight, has been all season, but the offense was just as bad as the defense tonight. Offense didn't do it's job either. I really like Heupel but he needs to do two things to stretch and improve on the success he's had here.

1) find an upgrade at DC

2) Transition toward a CEO style coach. Hire an OC collab on the offense but let your guy call the plays........ Too much on his plate.

I think that's a stretch, considering. I'm betting some numb skull (ahem, Haslam) will take a chance.
His measurables aren't very good at all, he's an option QB who's a gamer. He lacks every single quality you want in a pro QB.

He's Temu Manziel with a significantly less lively arm.

Need a new OL coach or something. Our O-Line can’t block for a middle run at all. It’s pretty terrible.

Start with this guy. Good track record in the SEC/ACC as a DC and LB coach. He is still highly regarded at LSU. Most folks hope he is retained by the new HC.

I assure you I understand better than you.
I’m just not naive enough to believe that’s the reason we are losing winnable games and losing to Vandy.

So bye bye.
Imagine being this old and hellbent on NOT reading and comprehending important facts about your team while also screaming from the mountain tops how you know everything. Don't insult me lol, I could literally name the backups and every on field assistant coaches for every Tennessee team since 2009. Some people have train autism, I have Tennessee football autism.

Get outta Momas basement sometime and get a life and you won’t have time to learn every backup and assistant coach since 2009.
