I honestly think Tennessee is a top 10 team looking at this
I used to say, "give me an overrated BIG or ACC team in the bowl game." Screw it. I want Michigan, Miami, or USC this year. Tired of smacking second tier teams in bowls. Loved when we torched Clemson a few years back. Need more of that for this program.

so Barnes was not concerned about winning the tournament?

Probably not that much when you can’t control getting to the championship despite not losing.

I’m sure he’d like to, but he’s more concerned with getting Vols experience. Long season and need to be playing the best in March/April not November.

it's leaking out that Kiffin is staying at Ole Miss. How long until Gator fans go from denial to cold realization?

"SpiritBen at Ole Miss On3 expects Lane to stay at Ole Miss now. He just posted it.

Imagine doubting GR. Couldn’t be me."

GR is Gator Raid, 247's fake insider who has the entire board convinced Lane Kiffin is coming.
If true that is bad news with LSU and Heupel. We'll either need to match their 16 million a year offer + 40 million in NIL or we could have problems.

The best scenario for college football is that he stays at Ole Miss. The best move for Tennessee would be him choosing LSU. IMO

Always saw this as a possibility.

Surely LSU wouldnt offer that kind of money, that seems a bit tall. Id say $12-13 per. Realistically.

Remember also we have the Adidas deal. I'll add that Heupel SEEMS like a man of faith. I get a strong sense that relationships & integrity are important to him.

Let's think about this objectively.

Perhaps LSU is further ahead talent wise on its roster. Perhaps LSU has deeper pockets, perhaps its a turn key championship program.

Let's then look at this: The Governor of State of Louisiana got involved in the sideways kerfuffle that was Brian Kelly.

that showed, disorganization, lack of effective leadership, and most importantly confusion among the rank and file.

Compare that to TN. Randy Boyd, Donde Plowman, Danny White. Solid as a rock.

Side by side, we built our house on a rock. Think about that.

Is the difference between $9 and $12 really worth it? Even Lane Kiffin said no. Let that sink in!

Love all the opinions from people that don’t even know the rules of the tournament 😂
Exactly I watched the festival last season so I already knew the rules on tiebreakers ... It was mind boggling during the first game vs Rutgers on how many people were saying Refs were holding Tennessee back from running up the point differential. When they should've known the cap was +20 was most you could get in any game...

Lesson learnt here people, read the guidelines when money is involved ...

Btw I thought the tv broadcast crew was awesome. Play by play guy Brandon Gaudin was keeping it hyped but not over the top. Thought Hummel was good too.

How strange is it that we've played a full slate of conference games and the only "like" opponents we share with Vandy are Bama and Kentucky? Darn near played opposite schedules.

Vs Bama = final score about the same. Vandy was at home (like that matters) and we were on the road:

We had 410 yards of offense against Bama. Vandy had 333. We turned it over one time. Vandy 2. We had 27 first downs and Vandy only 16. We were called for 10 penalties and Vandy only 5.

Defensively we allowed 373 yards and Vandy allowed 486.

Vs Kentucky = they won by 28 and we won by 22. Vandy at home and we were on the road.

We had 504 yards of offense. Vandy had 604. We had zero turnovers. Vandy had 1. We were called for 6 penalties and Vandy had 7. We had 24 first downs and Vandy had 29.

Defensively we allowed 476 yards and Vandy allowed 315.

Ultimately, we played a better game against Bama, and they had a better result against Kentucky. I think the spread is fair with us being at home.
Vandy played at Bama
