Kiffin to LSU?

Too much parity now. Alabama will never experience another Saban like run. The sooner they realize that, the better but they never will 😄

As I posted earlier this week, this entire episode just shows the absurdity of the current calendar. One easy fix is to move signing day back to February. The tougher issue is the portal. Most coaches want their rosters mostly filled out before spring practice. But Saban had an idea on Gameday this morning that I had never thought about. He suggested doing away with spring practice altogether. That would allow the portal to move to May, and then sometime in June you could have a couple of weeks of OTAs. Honestly, that’s the best suggestion I’ve heard for how to fix this mess.
At the very least, need to get the transfer portal and early signing period out of December and November. Shouldn’t happen until January at the earliest.

Meh. I am not scared of Kiffin at all. I think we would beat him more often than he beat us regardless of where he coaches.
It’s an interesting dynamic. Kiffin has created this aura around himself and he may be overrated as a coach. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. I do think he is an excellent head coach, but people acting like he’s a slam dunk home run may be very disappointed. Many said the same thing about Brian Kelly to LSU and Lincoln Riley to USC.

When Kiffin beat Oklahoma this year, it was the first big time road game he had ever won as a head coach. And he hasn’t won a championship of any kind*. Again, an outstanding coach who has done a great job at Ole Miss, but that doesn’t guarantee he will meet the demands of Florida or LSU. Which is why he might be smart to stay at Ole Miss.

*Edit: He did win 2 Conference USA championships, which sandwiched a losing season. Oddly.

Not sure if serious. Been the coach of the Raiders, Vols, and SC, all before the age of 35. Saban’s OC. Has job offers right now from LSU and Florida. Auburn offered him when they settled on Freeze. What are you talking about?
lol. Look at all the job openings that have happened over the course of say the past 10 years.

Bama
UGA
FSU
UF
TX
OU
TAMU
OSU
LSU (before now)

Yet none of them hired him. Why? Please don’t say a money issue. Dude you bringing up the Raiders with Al Davis? Please. And how did that work out? Again what has Kiffin won? You said he was 10x better than the Ogre? How? The Ogre has a national championship. Kiffin has…..

This seems very dumb of you. You are starting to come across as a troll who can’t be taken seriously if you really can’t think of why Ohio State, Georgia, and even Bama didn’t have pre-written hires when the had their openings.

To start, Georgia was hiring Kirby and Kirby only. Ohio State left the hire to Urban and he was always going to hand it over to Day. Bama and Saban literally hired the best coach available who just took Washington to the Natty.

Conveniently, you left out Auburn but the 3 current schools all have openings. Auburn interest 2-3 years ago was real and thought to be a dumb deal.

Florida and LSU are now throwing out $90 million contracts while having to pay $25-50 million buyouts to Cheap hire (Napier) and panic hire (Kelly) they made when they had their last openings both of which happened when Lane was 15-8 after 2 seasons into taking Ole Miss at which was at rock bottom after the Matt Luke years.

A&M really focused in on Elko after the Stoops backlash.

You must be a casual college football watcher if you can’t understand why Kiffin is having multiple schools throwing out near 9 figure packages / investments to hire him or keep him.

This isn’t some conspiracy or rocket science.

Where are they getting their money from? They were just out several millions of dollars after firing Kelly and now they’ve got money to make Kiffin a “monster contract” that he can’t refuse? I wish Tennessee administration was that serious about winning!
Speculation from their accounting firm is they will have to borrow money or do some sort of bond.

Why? Are you one of these fans who are scared of Lame?
I'm Old enough to remember when old miss was an automatic win. They are going to be in the playoffs. He has done a pretty good job in a recruiting desert, surrounded by perennial big dogs. So not afraid, but if you don't respect what he's done there, and what that indicated he could do in a recruiting buffet, you are a fool

I don’t know. Im thinking he may stay at Ole Miss. Im wondering if he has matured some since UT /USC. He may have finally realized the grass is not always greener. I find this whole announcement from the AD as being very strange unless he is wrangling for more $ from boosters. What must the Ole Miss players be thinking? Season is not over, chance in the plaoffs, etc. With his son and daughter, both being in Oxford, I think he may stay.
It will be interesting for sure. His daughter is dating one of LSU’s star players so that may play a small factor. The question in his mind has to be where it’s easier to win an NC, Ole Miss or LSU. Based on history, I think we know the answer to that question. Heck if a moron like Miles and Orgeron can win one,

That Job is easier to routinely contend. And you will always be measured on winning a natty or being a failure.

However, Kiffin could prove the Ole Miss narrative wrong right now.

Going to LSU and winning a natty is no big deal historically to the program. Doing so at Ole Miss is basically getting the university named after you.

Sure thing bud you know it all don’t you? The bottom line is many programs have had the opportunity to hire Kiffin and they haven’t. That’s a fact. You can dance around it all you want.

To be fair, I think most folks were still in a wait and see mode to make sure his stints in rehab were successful. Ole Miss took a chance and that stop has been his half way house. After some surprising success in Oxford, a couple of big time schools have now come calling.

There have been many big programs that have hired or tried to hire him. You think history says otherwise just because you “think” 3 programs who have multiple titles in the last 10 years had openings that also conveniently had preordained hires lined up.

You’re literally arguing with history.

Wasting your breath and energy. Check the dude’s posts over time. This latest back and forth is more of the same in the sea of stupidity that he normally puts on here.

Kiffin and Orgeron are very close. If he takes the job, he may bring Orgeron back as DC.
