President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

"Higher education isn't what it used to be" .... Absent of any context at all, that is an empty statement.

The importance of higher education is, and has always been, dependent upon the field of work a person is interested in entering and their career goals and financial aspirations.

To make a blanket statement such as "Higher education isn't what it used to be," as though everyone has equal ambitions in life, and fields of study are interchangeable is absurdly over-simplistic.

Quite frankly .... it's what a redneck would say.

Lol. If what you say is true there wouldn’t be countless people with worthless degrees and mountains of student loan debt. Standards are lower. Curriculum is full of worthless classes. Many of the degrees themselves are flat out useless. I’m not making a blanket statement but outside of a handful of degrees there isn’t much return on investment. Not everyone can major in “diary forensics” like you. 🤣

Ah, so why would cost spiral upward due to the ACA, specifically? Is the ACA driving healthcare costs up? Is it encouraging insurance providers to increase prices?

We're not discussing and the ACA isn't about healthcare, it's about health insurance. The cost of health insurance has skyrocketed since the ACA was implemented and there is no disputing that, several reasons as to why that is the case and they include mandatory coverage for various items that are not needed, eliminating true catastrophic plans and added compliance/administration costs.

LOL!

I accused you of being simple-minded, because you are treating college degrees as being equal and interchangeable. You did nothing but 100% confirm that with your post.

In that post you just replied to, I specifically cited your error in not providing context. I even said that, "The importance of higher education is, and has always been, dependent upon the field of work a person is interested in entering and their career goals and financial aspirations."

All degrees are not equal ...

When my son told me that he wanted to be an electrical design engineer, I didn't discourage him from applying to colleges of engineering, just because some uneducated redneck, who posts on VolNation, thinks that all degrees have equal value. What a tool. 🤪

You’re clearly angry about the ACA. Could it be because of the mandates on employers?

Is there any idea you agree with? How about wellness incentives, or positive impacts on small businesses that aren’t subject to the mandates?

I'm not angry at all, please stop deflecting.

The only part of ACA that I agree with is that people cannot be denied coverage due to pre-existing conditions.

Asking a question is not deflecting, but getting defensive about it is.

So you aren’t a fan of covering essential health benefits, no-cost preventative care, mental health provisions?

What’s amazing about the ACA is that the longer it has been in place, the more favorable public opinion is on the program in general, despite gop’s best efforts.

You said that the ACA was just a bridge to bring in universal healthcare, did you not?

That means that the authors of the ACA planned on it failing and it needing to be replaced, what am I missing?

Your first statement is correct. Your second statement is you assuming the intent of the writers of ACA. I’ve asked you to elaborate on how you know that it was intended to fail, and nothing of note convinces me that it was intended to fail.

It’s common sense that going from a multi-payor system would need involve a bridge if moving to single-payor, likely in multiple steps. The ACA would be step one. If you can point to something that proves the intent was to fail, I’m all ears… but I haven’t heard that yet.

Why would the ACA need to a bridge to single payor if the ACA was working. Come on, it’s simple logic.

So you can’t spell out how it was intended to fail, it’s just a talking point that sounds good until detail is required.

You are letting perfect be the enemy of good.

You don't care about milk cows?

Seriously, you want heart surgeons going to a 12 month tech college before being turned loose at the cardiac unit.
How about those physics folks that send rocket's to the moon? Maybe an online course?

If you think the ACA is good, you are BEYOND HELP.

What did your party accomplish by keeping the government shutdown other than hurting Americans. Now Democrats are mad at other Democrats for not keeping the government shutdown so the could keep hurting Americans because they thought they were standing up to Trump.

Less then 30% of those with degrees work on the field of thier degree. 60% are underemployed
And only 45% actually work in a field where a degree is required and many of those field are opting for experience over a degree..given those stats and I can provide links if needed. It shows that today's college degree are not worth near as much as they used to be..they have become less and less each year..so while some degree have merritt most 4 year degree are not worth the value of 1 year of experience in the same field.

Your comprehension is about as good as the forensic diary expert’s.

I never understood how this was legal. they are making you pay interest you haven't accrued yet.

You’re not paying interest on what you haven’t accrued.

It’s broken down daily.

On $250,000 at 5.75% is about $40 per day interest in the beginning. That’s why very little money goes towards the principal at the beginning of the loan.

Besides the need to elaborate on what “those degrees” point to specifically, because I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply to healthcare degrees…besides that, all those fun numbers you quoted, doesn’t that point to the job market (or lack thereof), lack of evolution in our society overall, and a regression in innovation?
