They have to play it to get good at it and make it effective. And it brought us back this half.Plz get out of this press. . It’s going to get scary when we play teams that can actually make layups on the backside of the press.
Is this what happens when you put a D-2 coach into a P-4 position? It looks like she is second-guessing herself in year 2 and not sure if they should play fast or slow and controlled, which is leading to the players being unsure. They are passing up open looks and running a half a** offense right now. They are not committed on either end of the floor from pressing to when to take a shot. This needs to be fixed and that starts with the coaching staff having a clear vision and commitment to style of play. Today is obvious that that vision is not there yet this season.Problem is the players don't seem clear on what she's trying to do differently either. If she's going to take something away, she needs to replace it with something.
when we have they have packed the paint, hence the 3s. they’ve given our bigs trouble.I’m confused why we’re shooting so many 3s? Coach Kim has made several statements early on this year that she is looking to score inside more this year due to not having as many great 3 point threats. UT Martin’s tallest player is 6’1”. We have a clear size advantage pretty much everywhere. Why the heck are we not playing more inside?
It seemed to me they weren't playing their all-out press until toward the end of the first half. They have to play it to get good at it and make it effective. And it brought us back this half.
Barker and Wolfenbarger were certainly discussing the finer point of the back end after that last time they broke it.
Next time on offense look at the set we run. We never establish post before the shot goes up and you’ll find the post players roaming on the perimeter.I’m confused why we’re shooting so many 3s? i also wonder if some of it has to do with losing so many three point shooters. we don't really have any real three point specialists like last year. to me, last year was slower/not as athletic but had better leadership and buy-in even at this point in the season last yearIs this what happens when you put a D-2 coach into a P-4 position?
