In the many-worlds interpretation of the
multiverse theory, every possible outcome of an event occurs in some universe.
I just didn't think the LV's being tied with UT Martin was possible.

Before the game I told my daughter that it being a Sunday afternoon game against a bad team, in front of a small audience would lead us to play with low energy and if we allowed the home team to hang around we would have a tougher time than we should.

The feed we have has no audio so the whole thing has been lower energy even in our house.

The Lady Vols played fine when they got mad there for a minute. There is no reason they can't play that way all the time.

Have to hope they don't hit another six threes that has them tied. 11 turnovers to their 10 we need to win turnovers big in the next half. Just five foul shots for each team. This group of Refs don't want to blow the whistle. A lot of contact allowed inside.

But we were neck and neck with Wes Moore's ranked team.
And had we played that game the same style as we played last year in the press and wore down their limited back court, as well as the fast offense we ran, we would have probably won that game. We were very passive in that game too. It amazes me the level of athletism on this team playing at a pace some of our slower, less athletic players from last years team could have easily kept up with. In this game, we have put up 29 shots to UT martins 26. That is not close the the 20-30 addional shots KCK said her teams get to be successful. In the NCST Game the shots were 77 attempted for Tennessee to 76 for NCST. It is not the same philosophy of a year ago.

i knew losing ruby would make this season a battle, but i did not expect it to hurt us this bad. she really was a huge part of our team. we’re really struggling with roles since her departure.
Listen, I get all of the Ruby consternation. All of that aside, LV’s just need to play to their level of talent now. Maybe it will take this team a bit longer to find their rhythm, but the talent is there for a great season. I am sure CKC is frustrated, but it’s early in the season, too soon to panic.

That would normally favor the bigger and more physical team.

Probably the one play that symbolizes this game the best was the Martin girl waddling slowly over into Cooper's path and getting charge call.

The whole game has been surreal.

Better be some serious @$$ chewing going on in that locker room at half...
Ass chewings are overrated. I want some clarity as to the purpose and scheme of what we're supposed to be doing.
Agree. Coach has been mad at them all season, madder after each game. She also said they had a horrible practice thrown in. And they come out like this? Clearly they are not responding to whatever kind of chewings have been going on. Time to try something else.

The fouling is a great example Let's se,e did she ask them to foul more? Because that's what they're doing. She's been harping on fouling since last season, throughout the entire offseason, and the entire preseason. Yet it becomes a bigger problem every game. This is an example of how they are not responding to what she's laying down. It's not unexpected; it's a new group, lots of new faces but it's concerning that they're not responding and that things seem to be getting a little more unglued instead of more cohesive. Today they seem flat and uninterested.

I totally expect they'll come back and overwhelm UTM in the second half but this has still been concerning.

, How about D Wells little Sis.? You have to be happy for that family. Such nice folks who had a lot of misfortune over the years.

No way we play as poorly in the 2nd half, but it highlights the same concerns from last year. When this team is "on" they can beat anyone, when they aren't ... well, you have today. Fortunately, we still have a significant talent advantage and there's no way UTM is going to win this game. We can't do this in SEC play and expect to be elite. That's the concern.
What’s concerning is this was the theme of the last two coaching era’s.

Almost all those TN teams could compete with anyone. They could also lose to just about anyone. No in-between.

I keep thinking CKC is working on something different this preseason than last. She said in the summer she wasn't trying to put as much of her system in before the season as she did last year. Also said she expected it to take a while to click with this team.

Actually Martin has a sellout today It's a special Pat Summit Heritage day for them It's a small arena but it's full and the crowd is fairly enthusiastic. Unfortunately they have a lot to cheer for.

Problem is the players don't seem clear on what she's trying to do differently either. If she's going to take something away, she needs to replace it with something.
