Putting yourself on an elitist pedestal by saying “some of us expect more” is such a strange stance.
By your logic, we should fire every coach who doesn’t win an SEC Championship within five years? Should we have fired Majors after year five too? That would mean we never would’ve had Fulmer and the 1998 National Championship.
This is what happens when you fire people without a plan or any stable direction ahead. It’s the same kind of impatience that led to the childish coach who started our downward spiral. I’ve watched losing teams my entire adult life as a Vols fan, and now that we’re finally becoming relevant again, people like you want to throw it all away by firing the only solid coach we’ve had in decades.
Stability matters. I care about consistency and long-term growth, not short-term satisfaction. I’m not a child expecting instant results. I understand the landscape, and I know exactly what would happen if we fired our coach in this current market.
And as for the other reply. I forgot we won a national championship in 89/90. Oh wait..
