Heupel beat the hell out of Drinkwitz the two times previous to the 2023 game. Using a single game result isn’t the best way to judge coaches.

It’s a different skill for sure. Heupel recruits HS by building a rapport with the kid and the family for 3 years and preaching the family atmosphere.

The portal is a business decision. They meet with 3-4 teams in a week and only 1 school gets the sale. And the deal is often done right there on the spot. Heupel does not excel in those settings.

Ok that doesn’t disprove that Kiffin hasn’t sniffed the playoffs and he’s doing it at a school with less history, resources, recruiting base etc.

Lea has a losing record. Lea has done nothing more than Tennessee has.

Elmo went 8-5 last year.

Debour is a faltering coach who is losing what Saban had despite having the most talent team in the SEC atm.

None of those statements are sure fire realities.

The only coach who is clearly a step above is Smart.

So you think Heupel is the second best SEC coach? I disagree but it's all just opinion.

The record says Tennessee is middle of the pack in the SEC.
