The Perfect Storm for Defensive Secondary Disaster

The Titans drafted a guy who had 2 ACL surgeries in college in the first round and he wasn't nearly as productive as McCoy has been. He was at the top of everyone's board at his position coming into the season. And he is still showing as the best CB in the draft without playing a snap so far. There's no reason for him to come back to Knoxville after this season. I hope he gets healthy enough to contribute this year.
And the titans suck at drafting, they are a staple of what not to do. Richardson got drafted 1st by Indy on talent alone, how did that work out? The barristers of the titans took Levis, good grief a 10 year old could have made a better decision. Folks in the NFL might have tried an experiment now and then, but I highly doubt your going to see continual reaches on talent and potential alone. Or players out an entire year going first round. Is it possible with McCoy? Yes but he could just as easily go 2nd or even 3rd or more. There are no guarantees in the draft, if you have ever watched one you know this. Heck, with seemed them all dressed up on day 1 and then still be sweating on day 2. The ones getting to choose aren’t likely to go down the same rabbit hole again. I bet you don’t see many GM’s take them chances in the future. Especially in first round, they will want to see results. GBO

I hear you. However... I wouldn't use the Titans as an example of smart personnel decisions.

It wasn’t all just 100 dollar handshakes, just on what we know Ramsey got a house and cash. The big 12 bought corvettes and big cash to a few players. And that is just a few things plus you can just imagine things that were never caught. It was much more than 100 dollar handshakes going on. Much more
Yes, a few random players got more. Newton, Ramsey, Reggie Bush etc. As I recall, everyone was astounded that Newton was supposedly “bought” with $200,000. Reggie Bush’s parents supposedly got a house. Bama was known to give cars to numerous players. That money pales to what’s going on today with lots of players getting six figures. A good number getting millions. Nico, Carson Beck, Arch Manning. Heck, an unknown like Joey commanded $1.5 million before playing a down in the big leagues. The old days were nowhere close to today’s money.

I didn't say it was smart or a good idea. I'm saying it happens and there's really no reason for a guy with a first round grade to come back just because we as a team want him to.

He was really good last year but I agree, I think a lot of the first round mocks was assuming he showed continue progression. I dont think I would feel comfortable with my team using a first round pick on him.
Titans love guys coming off ACL surgery.

Some folks that act like players aren’t giving their all are nuts. I see nearly players from all teams working hard and want to win. A few may lay down but it won’t benefit them in the long run. If folks don’t think the NFL don’t look into who is a hard worker or not their nuts. Players love to play and win. They aren’t like folks on the message board laying on the couch playing conspiracy theory. Most college players these days are getting a bad rap over what a few may or may not be doing. Most go to class and the majority work hard. They bluster on message sometimes get sickening. GBO
When you say "lay down" are we talking Boo giving up on a play or Turrentine actually laying down on a tackle attempt? Asking for a friend.

They can do what they want to, I have seen some I thought should go and I have said that. But the grade and what folks tell you does not always materialize. Everybody thought Witten was a slam dunk 1st rounder and actually should have been but he got drafted in the 3rd. Many more examples, every situation is different and we don’t know all the details. Just because you or me might think it’s a good idea doesn’t necessarily mean we are right. GBO
