McCoy tore an ACL in January. It’s typically a year recovery. Wishful thinking for him to get back.1 guy doesn't have his mind right. The other guy is trying to take care of his future but his loss hurts our defense, because he's not their to shut down one side of the field, while also creating the AURA of, "look out for yourself".
Throw in not having Arion Carter and thats how Kentucky gets 500 yards total offense and 30+ points.
But Boo being distracted and McCoy staying AWAY has hamstrung our defense.
Oh and Gibson injury.
People are quick to jump on Boo, but I just have to point out McCoy is playing hookie. And when this kind of environment exists it permeates to that entire side of the football.
I said what I said, and McCoy holding out is a huge gamble for him to take.
Eddie Jackson of Alabama in 2014 had the same injury April of that year. Came back and started 8 games. We all know McCoy should have been back weeks ago
That was true decades ago, sure…. But, with medical advances, ACL’s are very rarely career ending anymore, especially for a 20 year old with no significant prior health history.ACL don't heal the same. Some will never play the sport again. I was never very athletic after mine was repaired.
You’re crazy if you think McCoy is refusing to play now. If he plays it will improve his draft stock or keep it where it’s at which was top 15 pick coming into this year. He don’t play he will drop in the draft a little. Also he tore his ****ing ACL in January which is normally a 12 month healing process for football. If McCoy could play he would.1 guy doesn't have his mind right. How do you say I care more about the game of football than I do the players that play...BINGOwhile also creating the AURA of, "look out for yourself".
Should’ve cut Carter loose whenever his mom went on that Ebonic filled rant on twitter about going to Colorado before the season started. The whole situation makes you have a little sympathy for these coaches(even though they are making millions), I couldn’t imagine dealing with someone who has that much ego coupled to a room temperature I.Q. .You’re crazy if you think McCoy is refusing to play now. Also Gibson being out for the year also hurts just as bad when we are having to play freshman and 4th stringers as DB’s.
And the issue going on with Boo is beyond selfish. I have been one of the biggest Boo supporters all season long and you won’t find 1 thing negative I have said about him up till now. It’s clear he isn’t happy here and his mother isn’t happy with him here, but by time all the issues come out, Tennessee was only Shcool he could play for this season as he missed the windows to transfer. I would not be surprised to see him hit the portal on the first day the window opens in January. His play against Kentucky where he litterlly gave up running full speed and let a TD score without trying to knock him out of bounds was it for me. Wish the kid well, but I rather have kids on the field that will give effort and at least try and little less talented than one that’s thinks he’s a star and is lazy.

McCoy’s injury was more than just his ACL and he hasn’t been fully cleared by his surgeon or anyone from UT’s medical team. He is not only not “holding out,” he’s been present at every workout, practice and meeting with his teammates and position group in addition to doing everything that’s been asked of him from a rehab perspective.1 guy doesn't have his mind right. He's had a moment or two in the return game, but I'd hardly call him great. And let's be honest...the "return game" in college football is nothing like it used to be. One could eliminate kickoffs and punts from the game altogether and likely be better off for it. Kick, run and fair catch. Start each drive after a score at the 25 and march off 40 yards and place the ball instead of punting it. Just going thru the motions in today's game. Waste of time IMO. It's certainly no reason to put up with the Boo Carter drama for another season. This is one case where the old adage about "addition by subtraction" is absolutely true.McCoy... no. He's still hurt. Boo? He'll be playing for Coastal Carolina or Georgia State next year. Great returner though. That'd be the only reason we keep him.

McCoy’s still virtually a lock to go 1st rd. This corner class is relatively weak, & his sophomore tape was good enough for teams to take the minor gamble on him.
Yeah... if CFB went to the NFL returns... he'd be Devin Hester. He's had a moment or two in the return game, but I'd hardly call him great. Disagree. This is the 5th year and this is what Banks has produced for a D. UT has talent. Even without those guys it isn't a talent issues. Teams around the SEC and country are dealing with less talent but getting better results.1 guy doesn't have his mind right.
