What Tennessee has going on in Baseball now with infrastructure, fan interest and the new stadium puts us among the very best in the game... So now hire an unproven coach to run it? That just feels off to me. I'm not an insider but I just don't believe Danny wants to do that. imoHe hired Kim. I think if he’s impressed enough by elander he will hire him. And if not he’ll get a different impressive coach.
Nah....I just need to quit giving aJust take a breath and find something else to fill the time other than worrying about college sports. I make custom art frames in my free time. Pickleball is pretty fun too. It's getting chilly, maybe make a good crockpot stew?
The thing is, I love the game of baseball, it was my first sports love...the insane and stupid unfairness of the MLB financial system ruined that for me, but thanks to Tony building us into a powerful and super fun baseball program, that love was getting rekindled...Tony made CBB matter to me.It's college baseball...
We shall all take 2 tylenols and forget all about it within a few years if we fall back to the depths of mediocrity.
Take the extra money and put it back to WBB and MBB, where quick gains can happen with just a few key recruits. Jmo.
If we don't continue to win in baseball at an elite level, it will be the biggest waste of resources in the country. Because we are investing into baseball at an elite level. The thing is, I love the game of baseball, it was my first sports love...the insane and stupid unfairness of the MLB financial system ruined that for me, but thanks to Tony building us into a powerful and super fun baseball program, that love was getting rekindled...Tony made CBB matter to me.
I hope it doesn't come crashing down now, but I just don't have much hope that we will continue to be an elite baseball program. Imo it has not been built long and strong enough to have the kind of foundation which can withstand this.
The way Kiffin left absolutely screwed us badly, and was the biggest reason we were tormented in CFB hell for a decade.I have to take exception with you on this one. Ultimately it is business for both parties. It might not be to us but is business to them. Not many people would pass up a dream job out of loyalty to their current employer, just as if TV was losing UT wouldn't hang on to him forever out of loyalty.
Second Kiffin was not responsible for our decade and a half of misery. Fulmer should not have been fired and Kiffin should have never been hired in the first place. At the time I said both were mistakes, Fulmer deserved more and Kiffin was and is a punk worth of being hired by Florida. Incompetent ADs like Hamilton caused that junk just like Stickland is doing to FU.
I know...and that was because of Tony. I really hope Elander gets the job, and can continue to build out the program. If we don't continue to win in baseball at an elite level, it will be the biggest waste of resources in the country. Because we are investing into baseball at an elite level.
Tony didn't provide $1 of the $100M going into LNS. He didn't provide any of the money that puts us at the top of recruiting. He didn't provide any of the money that puts us ahead in NIL. Yet all of those things are important to being elite and without them there would be no CWS...with or without Tony. Those things came from Randy Boyd and Danny White, and we still have them. Other schools in the SEC also win at a high level, and none of them had Tony. Honestly, we'll be fine. The thing is, I love the game of baseball, it was my first sports love...the insane and stupid unfairness of the MLB financial system ruined that for me, but thanks to Tony building us into a powerful and super fun baseball program, that love was getting rekindled...Tony made er CBB matter to me.

I don’t believe it has to be that way....not all people are faithless and selfish. I really don't even think Tony in his heart is really ok with this...and that is what really sucks.I love the sentiment, but us fans are the only ones that are with UT through thick and thin.
Sadly, we will never have a coach that is a true ride or die for our university again. That statement applies to the majority of student athletes as well. It’s not something unique to us though, it’s the same for all other universities.
This deserves a BOOM! Solid post. The way Kiffin left absolutely screwed us badly, and was the biggest reason we were tormented in CFB hell for a decade.
Fulmer was finished, he was not going to rebuild the program...and yes Hamilton absolutely was an idiot and also needed firing, and no Kiffin shouldn't have been hired...all that being said, if that crazy run of weird freaky events had not happened, he would have at least brought some talent in before he was ultimately fired and left a better situation for whoever got the job after him.
All that being said... Tennessee as a whole from the University leadership all the way to the bottom was a rotten structure that needed to be absolutely demolished before real progress could start to happen again...I just wish we didn't have to be so humiliated for so long to do it.
The truth is...it is hard to be a Vol and has been for a long time. I just wish all the breaks would go our way for a while and crazywould stop happening for a while.
