Not sure what has happened today to change the spread line drastically, but something has. The line continues to drop. A couple of books including ESPN's has it down to -7 1/2 yet 79% of money is on Tennessee. All of the books have dropped some from the -9 1/2 to open. Starting to wonder if we're gonna see Joey's name show up as questionable on the injury list tonight.

Greg Lovelady at UCF. Coach from 2017-2023 there before being fired and is now an assistant coach at Stetson.

I’d say the opportunity to do something no college HC has ever done and become a MLB manager weighs more heavily in his decision than making a lot more money.

I can understand why CTV and DW weren’t the best friends. Two alphas are gonna but heads some. Let DW do his job. This is what he was hired for and how he earned the UT AD job. Im not faulting either one, it just is what it is. DW and UT are spending on baseball and the stadium the CTV asked for isn’t even finished.

I just watched White’s press conference. He seemed flustered and a little lost at times. That makes me wonder if maybe they were led to believe something different was going to come about. I’d be interested to hear from @Stoerner Fumbles regarding when they knew he was actually leaving and if something changed this morning.

No, that's not true. The revenue sharing is mandated. What isn't mandated is other spending you could take away from women's bball.

Now, Tony was keeping tabs on how Arkansas was taking the equivalent money from the women's basketball program and funneling it into Baseball.

Danny White has done absolutely nothing up to this point to cause us to question him as a leader. I am going to choose to stick with Danny until I’m given the reason not to. Maybe there was some animosity between the two camps, but whatever he has done is for the best of the university, not one program. And if Tony Vitello could not deal with that, then maybe it is best he left.

That’s correct except it’s only a portion of the total money going to each sport. Right pocket left pocket with NIL, etc.

Big risk. Oregon plays in an easier conference and still has Nike money.

If he flops, the fans will want Danny’s head as he replaced the best baseball coach in America with a flop.

If you hire Elander, at least you keep the fans happy and go for a big risk big reward type of hire.

I think DW has to nail this hire with rumors about him and Tony not getting along. He is our only championship coach and was loved by everyone. My VFL neighbor is pissed.

I hope Danny realizes the magnitude of this hire.

Rev share as he stated:

5% for “other” equalling $900k of which $750k went to baseball, which means women’s bb got $900k. That difference is a far cry from the $5mil and $2.2mil figures that got tossed around.

5% at $900k puts rev share at $18mil. Thought it was $20.5mil

Either way it sounds like those numbers might be slightly off but also sounds like the rumor numbers were way off. 5% of 20.5mil would be 1.025mil. So yeah appears the rumors were simply rumors or at least gross exaggerations of truth, assuming it was ONLY about rev share.

He also stated a operating budget of $14mil and that being the highest or close to highest in ncaa, so unless that’s a lie too it doesn’t seem like a lack of commitment to baseball excellence had the role in this that many are saying.

Ok flame away for me being a blind DW supporter.

Bob Melvin was making $4 million a season before getting fired by he Giants.. Tony Vitello probably gets the same or a little less to take the job. Plus Buster Posey has stated he will open the checkbook and sign FA that they need.. TBD ...
