DW couldn't offer him a position as Major League manager. It was the chance to coach in the Bigs, I really doubt it was about NIL money or salary.
Is this a guy that appears to be a great recruiter and can win titles? I know nothing about him other than a quick google search. But it seems like a major step down from Tony. Rather ride with Elander and see what he can do.
Big risk. Oregon plays in an easier conference and still has Nike money.I'm not so sure about that...Oregon legit doesn't give a **** about baseball and he's making less than 750k a year.
But his last 3 seasons there he's won 40 games for them. Would be interesting to see what a guy like that could do with the resources TN has for the sport.
Us 35 and under have experienced 1 real winner in our lives and that's Tennessee baseball. Understandably upset imo. Not saying all of it is intelligent but it's understandable.Wow. Large portions of the fan base acting like whiny brats this week. Tony V did what he felt was best for his career. Thank him and wish him well. DW is widely regarded as one of the best ADs in the business except by too many so called fans on here. I'm out.
Sure. But it wasn't about resources when he is going to a pro team who doesn't spend money. Not providing resources became the crutch to a possble relationship issue. The man was pulling in a top class and maybe a historic class in 2027. Big egos.Chris Burke and Kendall Rogers both said that the idea this decision was exclusively about the opportunity to coach in the majors is false. It’s a big reason, but there is more to the story.
I might sound bi-polar, but man, I really don't know what to feel right now.
Sad that the '24 natty mojo is over
Feelings of abandonment
Skepticism of Tony AND Danny
Uneasy about Danny's defensiveness in the presser
Worry about the players we will keep
Lowered expectations of the '26 season and beyond
And much more
I need some good news.

YepHe left for a MLB job. DW didn’t have a MLB job to offer. Confused why anyone would be mad or skeptical of either.
Sad day but excited to see what happens moving forward (although anyone expecting the same exact success is drunk, TV was 1 of 1).
No rational person would be doing that if JH left for a pro job, lol. Why are people so mad at a coach taking a more prestigious job? Tony won us a natty. Best of luck to him.Overreaction is expected.. you or nobody else can convince me if CJH left for another job this forum wouldn't burn to the ground playing the blame game...
Hes gonna TRY and hire the right guy for the job. He isn't infallible and sometimes the fans are right.Yep
Also everyone acting like Danny needs to hire Leander or gtfo are in for a rude awakening
Danny gives no ****s what the posters on here think
He’s gonna hire the right guy for the job
Except Tony flirted with A&M last year and others. He left for a MLB job. DW didn’t have a MLB job to offer. Confused why anyone would be mad or skeptical of either.

Why did his name keep getting thrown around? It wasn't just about Sexton. Tony enabled it.
What caused him to sniff around? Could Danny have squashed it? Maybe, maybe not.
Thus, the skepticism of both.
