I never post, but I have read every single page of this thread. I lurked long before ever creating an account. I breathed a sigh of relief that he still hasn't made a decision. It just reaffirms how much he loves it here. If he leaves, I'll be heartbroken, but I'm so thankful for everything he's done.I find it ironic that some of the most impatient and vocal posters in this thread have never once contributed to the BaseVol forum in the past.
Vitello starting to get on my nerves a little now. Stop stringing everyone along...just make your mind up. It really isn't fair to his players and also the Giants organization to keep everyone one in wait and see mode.
This is why we need that damn rock painted yesterday. It’s days like this that I hate being 14 hours from Knoxville. He’s obviously waffling and today’s fans showing up and chanting his name at a practice is exactly the kind of stuff that likely tugs at his heart strings. As trivial as this sounds, it’s exactly the kind of stuff that makes him love TN….
He will NEVER, EVER in a million years get the kind of love he will anywhere but here. If he goes to SFO and that team doesn't make the playoffs relatively soon, he gone. At UT, he will be immortal. In SFO, he will be just another coach. He's clearly struggling with the decision. It is literally a win/win decision for him either way.

Got any more behind the scenes info @Stoerner Fumbles?

I was going to second guess this article, but I think most of the criticism of bullpen decisions and keeping slumping bats in the lineup and who’s a defensive liability was all here in gameday threads in games we probably won![]()

Most great ones and high performers have that in common. Tony is no different. As a grown man, I honestly can't imagine this level of nonsense around my professional life. Either you're staying or you're going. Pick one and get it done. Like ****in middle school out here with all the secretive nonsense about what he's going to do/when he's going to announce it/etc.
The level of ego and self serving tendencies in people in positions of power and coaching in sports is insane to me.
