Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Confirmed)

He would be leaving a team and city that he loves to coach at the highest level of his profession. But, he would also almost certainly be taking an effective pay cut, due to California taxes and COL. Plus, there's a very realistic chance that he isn't successful in SF and is out of a job in 2-3 years.

I would actually be MORE surprised if a man like Tony made a quick decision. It's a ton to consider.

Just depends on how bad he wants a chance in the MLB. Every kid that grows up loving baseball dreams of playing in the MLB. He didn’t make it as a player and probably thought it wasn’t in the cards. Now he has a chance as a manager, it’s definitely not a money decision in any way.

Vitello starting to get on my nerves a little now. Stop stringing everyone along...just make your mind up. It really isn't fair to his players and also the Giants organization to keep everyone one in wait and see mode.
Idk man if your wife is considering leaving you, saying “just make a damn decision already” is probably not the move

This is where I’m at. You’ve had since Saturday, but probably even longer, to think on it. By dragging everyone along, it’s only going to make it hurt worse if he does leave. And at some point you’d think they’d say “look, yes or no because we gotta move on.”

The man has earned the right to take as long as he needs to decide.

Only way I would take the Giants job is with a guarantee the owners will open the checkbook and will go out and spend massive money like the Dodgers and Padres and get some talent otherwise TV would already be behind the 8-ball. Giants have no talent and no way they compete with the Dodgers and Padres in their division for next several years. Look at their roster, who is their star player? Verlander is all I see and he's 42 years old and past his prime and probably retiring.

My Atlanta Braves has more talent but too many injuries this year and my biggest pet peeve with Braves is they spend no money on free agents either to compete with the Dodgers, Padres, Yankees, Red Sox of the world. And if we were talking about TV being the new Braves manager right now, I would be praying he isn't hired with no MLB coaching experience at all.
