Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

The more I watch the Vols play the more I think Golesh was WAY more important than he was made out to be while here
It's hilarious that we have a segment of the fan base saying this, and then a segment of it trying to convince anyone who will listen Golesh is an average coach.

Even when Golesh was here it was Heupel's offense, just like it's Heupel's offense now. We've got a great coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball and not all of those coaches are on-field guys. Our offense hasn't even been an issue this year.

I always say I'm at least grateful that those who like to complain because it confirms their negative worldview, but I've come to accept that no matter how good things might be going, those people will ALWAYS find something to complain about.

We were extremely competitive in the Bama game. Whether fans want to admit it or are too blind to see it, that pick 6 was the difference. Idk if we win or not, but it's a 1 possession game coming down to the last drive.

Not making excuses, just pointing out that no one has taken a stick and beaten us to death with it yet. We are a very good team and likely win out. . . if we stop firing missiles at our toes during live action.

It's frustrating to look at.

So many ways to make this game winnable if we don't take a safety and don't throw that pick 6.

Right on. Creativity particularly in the red zone. Ironically we didn’t have to be creative Saturday because we had a back averaging 9 yards a carry. Just give him the ball. Bama was begging for us not to run it.
if we could do it over again we definitely would have leaned heavier on run game and stopped asking Joey to do so much

I did not like punting on 4th and 1 to start the game.

It seems like Heupel is aware that our defense is not great. Just go balls to the wall man. What happened to being aggressive.

We are acting like we did last year with TOP and LOS being of the utmost importance.

We need to go back to 2021, 2022 and go redneck crazy on offense. If we turn it over or score too fast, whatever. We are asking the offense to compliment a defense that is porous and cannot compliment the offense. When we do have a situation to capitalize on, we start clock watching or playing super conservative.

I'd rather play like we have nothing to lose again. Every time that we try to do something aggressive in 2024/2025, we do it conservatively. It screws everything up.
My dad says that Josh is suffering from low T.

We need a Heupel Rehab school for Fired coaches. Much like what Saban did. Bring me Franklin, Pittman, and Napier as analysts. Then bring us some players.
I’d love Pittman here.

Think we could get him to promise to continue rotating O-Line groups here halfway thru the season? That would be great.

Has Larry or Stoerner (or anyone that would actually know) commented on the OL truffle shuffle?
