So you're rebutting an argument no one has presented yet? Some real Minority Report-level stuff there, my friend. I just try my best to remain firmly placed in the present.I’m sure IF Elander is given the job they there will be plenty of fans who will think that. Just like there were many TX A&M fans whi felt that way when Earley was given the job with the roster he inherited. In fact, the majority of their fans wanted him to have the job to make sure the roster stayed intact. We were most likely getting a few of their players had Earley not been hired.
Did you not post that hiring Elander would be ideal because it would keep the roster intact and allow him to win right away?So you're rebutting an argument no one has presented yet? Some real Minority Report-level stuff there, my friend. I just try my best to remain firmly placed in the present.
No way….IMHO Giants will look foolish if CTV turns them down after Hundley already has. Especially getting turned down by a college coach with zero MLB or Minor League experience. Giants wanted this hush hush. Sexton loves the leverage this gives him with negations with both UT and the Giants.I think it’s more likely the Giants leaked it given it came from Rosenthal/Passan. Given the original scuttlebutt originated a few weeks ago now, I think the Giants are forcing Tony’s hand into a decision.
Could be wishful thinking on my part, but that’s my read.
What would be ideal, is Tony staying. I'm saying the ideal scenario if that happens, is Elander staying and taking over. I'm not saying it's guaranteed success. I'm saying that considering the circumstances it would be the best we could do.Did you not post that hiring Elander would be ideal because it would keep the roster intact and allow him to win right away?
I was simply pointing out that given what happened with Earley and TX A&M last season that no one should think the above. That’s all.
When Larry Pratt and Peyton Manning aren’t happy, the Athletic Dept isn‘t happy. The Bama loss is an afterthought at the prospects of losing CTV.Fan run radio show right now is throwing someTennessee mega donor and one of greatest Vols of all time is on thin ice with Danny White
and Donde Plowman moving behind the scenes to keep Tony.
Hmmm...Peyton, I assume?Fan run radio show right now is throwing someTennessee mega donor and one of greatest Vols of all time is on thin ice with Danny White

The way you've written this makes it seem like Danny is angry with the mega donor and former player. I'm guessing you meant the opposite. Right?Fan run radio show right now is throwing someTennessee mega donor and one of greatest Vols of all time is on thin ice with Danny White

Highest paid AD in the country. He isn't going anywhere, but if Tony walks (due in any part to a strained relationship with him) and then TN football loses another game this year... fanbase going to be pretty vocal, imo.All this brings up an interesting hypothetical question, and recency bias may play a roll in the answer...but, if one has to go, you are you keeping, Tony Vitello or Danny White?
I can see a scenario developing where this becomes an issue of the campus is only big enough for one of them. If boosters strong-arm Danny White into keeping Vitello at all costs against his recommendation of what he thinks is in the best interest of the athletic department as a whole, how long does Dr. Danny stick around believing he doesn't have the absolute authority he may have thought he had?
I'm gonna need some concrete evidence that donors and Danny are not in lock step before I go down that road. The conjecture is coming from all sides right now, and probably 0.2% of it is credible. All this brings up an interesting hypothetical question, and recency bias may play a roll in the answer...but, if one has to go, you are you keeping, Tony Vitello or Danny White?
